Games keeps crashing when I walk through a certain area [SOLVED]

I'm trying to head into Riften when all of a sudden the game starts crashing every time I try to move through the area east of the crypt Angarvunde.

I've used BOSS, I've used LOOT, but nothing's working. I've cleaned files using TES5Edit so those shouldn't be a problem.

What can I do?

My best bet for both the game and for my sanity was to get rid of SoT - Ultimate Deadly Encounters. Seriously; that mod's more trouble than it's worth.

What files did you clean with TES5Edit? BOSS is outdated use LOOT, it is made by the same people who made BOSS. Post your load order, please.

someone or something in that area is causing you to crash.
look for any mod that you are using that has an effect in that area.

load all your mods in TES5Edit and look for anything that makes changes to that area.

Also I'm not that tech savvy so I don't know how to use TES5Edit to check how a mod affects a certain area. Also I've considered Wrye Bash but no-one's given me a clear guide on how to use the dang thing.

I mean a majority of my mods affecting something are the various armors and weapons, plus the lighting, climates, plus immersive creatures and there's Ultimate Deadly Encounters which already caused a headache gameplay-wise

First check your mod list against this list. Then sort your load order with LOOT. Last manually order your left pane to match your LOOT sorted right pane.

After running LOOT be sure to click on the button in the upper right that says "Sort" when hovered over, then click "Apply" once it appears.

All you truly need Wrye Bash for is the Bashed Patch (which, given your load order, you need). And since you have MO I've got the perfect video for you

I typically also advise a Merged Patch, but most people seem to get by with just the Bashed (though I personally will continue to do both lol), so here, just a Bashed tutorial for MO:

I had a similiar issues a while back where my game would crash in random spots. Mostly when I saved my game near certain city stables. Whiterun, Riften, and Windhelm primarily and there were a few other random spots where it would just CTD, mostly when approaching the bridge next to Windhelm stables from either direction.

I narrowed the problem down to two mods. Tamriel Reloaded SMIM Patch, and Better Dynamic Snow.

Removing Better Dynamic Snow solved the problem, but I was also able to use that mod fine without the Tamriel Reloaded SMIM patch. Using the two mods together cause instability in some areas. I eventually narrowed the problem down to the last 4 files in the Tamriel Reloaded SMIM patch.

You may not be using Tamriel Reloaded, but maybe you have a similiar issue where some of the files in Better Dynamic Snow are conflicting with one of your other mod files.

It is the only thing I can think of, considering you have a plethora of mods that could be responsible, many of which I haven't used before.

are any of your armor mods using TBBP, or the high heels system ?
thats the most common reason for CTD, missing the TBBP skeleton, or having a mod that uses its own skeleton that is not compatable.

also, those are your mods that have a esp, you probably have several mods that have no esp
but is still loaded into the game by MO.

I would take Kittens advise, try UNticking Better Dynamic Snow and load skyrim, then try to go to the problem area

Try entering a dungeon or house. Wait there a couple of days till the world cells reset then go to Riften. It worked for me.

Every time I used LOOT to organize my mods Mod Organizer claims there to be a mod order issue which if I sort just puts them back to the previous order before using LOOT.

The auto sort feature of MO uses an outdated version of LOOT. Use LOOT itself. For the left pane you just have to ignore that warning mine has that warning all the time.
Edit: The left pane sorting option is a beta and gets it wrong.
