It's always possible to get rid of such items using console commands, but being stuck with quest junk isn't that big a deal - despite showing a weight, they don't actually contribute towards your "total carried" stat.
Though more than one player has been fooled into thinking otherwise and started buffing their stamina unnecessarily in an attempt to compensate. The game doesn't make it clear, for who knows what reason.
2. Get the item baseID. Open the console and type:
help "itemName"
You'll get a message with the baseID in brackets; for my game at least, "Endon's Silver Mold" is 001093E5.
3. Drop the item. Still in console, type:
player.drop <baseID> <amount>
For example, "player.drop 001093E5 1" should drop the mold near you, removing it from your inventory. You can later pick it up again, if you like.
Thank you so much! :) Bomb Bloke
