Candlelight spell is broken... help please!

I've recently been delving into a lot of unlit caves, and being a mage, I don't want to use a torch.
So the most convenient way to get light is to use candlelight. For some reason, however, whenever I cast candlelight, it only shows the white ball, and it doesn't light up the area around me whatsoever. I've consulted the Google, and it didn't help. Can someone here on steam provide some insight on my situation? I don't want to resort to using magelight because it only stays in the same spot. Using a torch is last resort.

Are you in 1st person or 3rd person? In some mods, while in 3rd person it is like that. Try switching to 1st if you have any mods. Also, a screenshot or video of the issue would be helpful.

No mods, it did the same thing for both 1st and 3rd person, and- oh wait, it's working again. Stupid Tolvald's cave, I think it might've only been glitched in there. Let's see.

Yep, it fixed itself after I closed the game. I guess the solution to all of life's problems is asking yourself "Have you tried turnig it off and on again?"

I didn't know we can hold torches!!!!

You can hold torches, yes, but it eats a gear/spell slot, so plan accordingly. And I think the torch goes away if you sheathe your weapon.

Nope, you will still have the torch out when you sheathe your weapon.

That was the reason why I didn't want to resort to torches. I need there to be as many thunderbolts/incinerates per second as possible constantly, and holding a torch halves my DPS.

I have extra candlelight and it suddenly stopped working when I uploaded something. It says I don't have enough Magika and I have over 200 magika. Don't know how to fix it.
