Trade Routes tips?
I'm thinking about ditching this mod for a few reasons, but I want to know if there's a way that I can increase my coin without going far out of my way to be a merchant.

Does anyone know any tips, or have a guide or list of places where some things are cheaper or more expensive?

You should instantly notice the difference around Whiterun, seeing that meat that you hunt is more valuable to sell than before.

I am using this mod because of regional variety in prices. For example, gold in Markarth is cheap, due to plenty of gold mines round. Peoples in Solitude have money from trade, but not plenty of gold mines, so they will pay more from gold and jewels. Mages in the College of Winterhold require gold and jewels for enchanting and they pay even more.

Food and - especially - beverages are usually a full jackpot, especially when you happened just to find them (or steal them, if you are a fence, or have fences around Skyrim.)

Mod was built around little things that you may not notice at all when playing. You do notice them, if you pay without the mod. You notice that meat prices go down. Everywhere. You notice that areas with plenty of iron mines sell and buy with same numbers than those with little resources. You will notice that special goods from Riften are wanted in plenty of holds, but they still pay the same in Solitude, when mod is removed.

Extra tips? Well, observe around and check prices from stores. Note that liberating some mines will also have an efefct to prices. This is especially true in Markarth, where at least one of the big mines is currently occupied by Forsworn and is not calculated. Clearing that mine will affect to prices, when mens get back to work. There are similar mines in other places around Skyrim. If you wish to take a sneak peek, instead of finding them all, then check Trade Routes MCM for more information.

I don't use this mod for trade, but to make sense of the game world. Of course I will consider options from Trade Routes + my status and personal relationships from Trade and Barter, when ever I have larger inventory of goods. It makes little sense to unpack them to Belethor, when I can get much more money by travelling to region that pays more and where I have a friend who gives me better prices.

It is a good mod. I think that you would miss it being there, even if you would not use merchant options at all. It gives some consistency to world. It is subtle, but there. Mod can make a real difference with Trade and Barter. I have always recommended that peoples would try using them together, bringing both regional factors and personal factors in to play. This is evenly true for a warrior of Companions, thief from Thieves Guild or merchant wandering after gold.

If you really want to make money, start picking up items with 1/10 weight/price ratio and sell them to your best buyer with regional+personal benefits from both mods.

I hadn't really thought of using it as an immersive sense and to make the game feel more consistent. I haven't really used it much, the one time I did after clearing a few dungeons, I had spent all my gained money on curing myself from a disease and having a meal. I was unhappy to find that I didn't have enough left to buy a flower from the orphan in Windhelm.

I think the downside is that in Tamriel there's no currency smaller than the Septim, so food becomes overpriced when the mod is installed. As I use iNeed it becomes a little difficult.
It's a little funny that there're no guides for the mod online (that I can find).

I'll give it another try when I get back to my PC, along with the new 122 mods I've just downloaded. (Holy cow)

Especially as I've just found a mod that gives me at base 50 carryweight, not including my equipped items that become weightless, I'm really going to have to watch my pockets.

... eh... uh...

I am using RND2 with this:

Perseids Inns and Taverns - Realistic Room Rental Enhanced by perseid9

High prices? Yeah, you could say so. I am also using Simple Taxes, so that my horse, house and followers can bleed me dry every month.

Money is "free" in Skyrim. There really is no economy that would hinder it and so it only replenishes, so making it is very easy. I am actually using Scarcity, severe tweaks to both trade mods, gold weight and Death Alternative to give bandits option to rob me.

And I still always have few thousand stashed at least in one of my safe houses, because gold weight would make it impossible for me to carry it all around.

My point is that when you learn how to make money in Skyrim, you end up having a lot of it. And I do mean enough to pay 100 per night for Bannered Mare and foods that cost around 20-80 septims each.

So, don't worry about it. You will have 30-50000 septims in pockets sooner than you realize. :steamhappy:
