Dwemer ruins
What level should I start exploring Dwemer ruins? I'm level 23 now and just got out of Nchuand-Zel and Arkghtamz, most of the stuff is bearable but large groups of Falmers, and Dwarven Spheres are too powerful for me, if I wouldn't have a follower I wouldn't make it. I want to start exploring them as fast as possible, because I need Dwarven Metal Ingots. So what level should I start exploring on? My guess is 30-35.

most of the ennemies scale to your level its been a long time since I last played skyrim but I believe the dwemers are no exceptions.

and yes they may be a little hard to deal with, try to play the style your character is built for, if you are a ranger try to hit them from as far as possible, if you are more of an assassin, try to sneak up on them avoiding a head on fight, if you are a pure mage, make use of alteration and illusion to buff/debuff yourself/them and then switch to destruction and so on...

as a last solution you can lower difficulty from the settings.

you shouldn't forget about using potions to buff and heal yourself and poisons to weaken your ennemies can come in handy sometimes.

I hope that helps

The minimum recommended level for most Dwemer ruins is 16-18. Your difficulty setting may affect it as will your skill levels.

If you haven't started the quest a Daedra's best Friend in Falkreath, having Barbas and a human follower to help you is ideal if you are too weak.

If you feel too weak, you could give the museum at Markarth a try; it's full of robot parts and only protected by humans.

When in doubt, just save before you go in and see hwo things go. In general most Dwemer stuff isn't too bad though. Even the Centurions can be handled by keeping your distance and using fire/archery.

Yes, they do scale.

I'd say I'm a Scout, kind of in-your-face, mobile character, but quite vulnerable as well. What made me die the most in Nchuand-Zel was Falmer's poison.

I lower my difficulty ONLY on instanely difficuly boss fights, not in general combat. I'm playing on Master, btw.

I try to refrain from using potions, and use healing spells instead, to boost my level. But if I happen to be in serious danger, when I have no time to heal, I do use potions. As for poisons, i don't find them very useful.

I tend to play without followers, but, as I knew I'd probably get beaten in there, I decided to take one. Without her I wouldn't stand a chance, or at least I'd die 5x as much (which is, about 60 deaths)

What do you mean? In what way does Markarth's Dwemer Museum help me? I did actually clear it, I have lots of stuff to smelt, and I got about 7 levels in Lockpicking. Still, it makes me level up and encounter tougher enemies without actually boosting my combat skills. Not a good idea

No ♥♥♥♥, Sherlock. If I wouldn't save often, clearing any ruins would take 3 hours instead of 30 minutes. In general Centurions are quite challenging, Spiders are easy, and Spheres are also quite challenging, but they appear 10x as often as Centurions, which makes them one of my most hated enemies in the game

Levelling in skyrim can tempt you to level everything, which does lead you to being weak in all skills also depends on which Perks you have selected. Perks make a HUGE difference

Whereas most enemies only concentrate on 1 or 2 skills so most enemies are at level 100 in their attack skill by around level 12 - 15, as such they can use major power attacks.

Falmer are tough and are beaten more easily if you are only taking on one or two at a time while you are sneaking and getting advantage of perks like assassin or backstab so you get to do massive damage. Places where Falmer are gathered in greater numbers it is advisable to use ranged weapons to bring one to you and have both a dog and human follower.

Also often in dwemer ruins there are obvious traps set so use them against the falmer or Centurions.

Your reason for wanting to explore the ruins is getting Dwarven Metal Ingots. The Museum has enough metal for you to easily melt 50+ ingots without having to worry about dying, since the enemies inside are weak.

increase your smithing skill. With better weapons and armors level 20 is enough

Oh right. Forgot that part. It's just that my actualy question was "How to deal with Dwemer Automatons on early levels". As for Dwarven Metal I gots, I cleared Nchuand-Zel, Arkhgtams, and Dwemer Museum, getting almost 550 metal ingots. I crafted Dwarven Bows, and increased my Smiting skill from 40 to 70, and used other items (mainly Jewelery) to increase it to 80. I think 600-650 ingots should be enough to get Smithing to 100.
