Now that I have installed Surround, how am I supposed to access it? And once I access it, how do I configure the audio interface?
You can then turn on/off Surround in Synapse.
How do I change my audio interface?
Okay, yep, good. I have selected my headset (Razer Kraken 7.1 Surround) and have set Razer Surround to the default audio device. I will report back to see if this has fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.
This did not fix the problem. I still do not have any sound in Skyrim. I have also tried disabling my headphones in the playback tab completely, but this didn't change anything either.
I only used it briefly when considering it to help with the last CSGO update that made footsteps sound like crap, but I didn't want to buy the program just for the EQ. Then I noticed the new free version of DFX Audio Enhancer has a software EQ so I used it instead.
Well, thanks for the help. The problem didn't end up being solved, but thanks for taking the time to help.
Just make sure it isn't something simple like disabling the 7.1 on your headset or the 5.1/7.1 on your soundcard or Realtek, because I am able to disable the surround using Razor Surround settings and my sound is fine.
Hmmm. Whenever I enable Razer Surround, it takes control away from my headphones and I can't hear anything. So how do I turn off surround sound without using Razer Surround?
Oh my God I feel like such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ now. Skyrim was MUTED IN MY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RAZER SYNAPSE MIXER SETTINGS. And because I don't normally tab out of Skyrim as it crashes, I wasn't able to see whether it was on mute or not, because it dissapears from the mixer upon closing the game. ARGH. I SPENT 5 HOURS LAST NIGHT AND 4 HOURS THIS MORNING.
Sound comes only from the left for me and it happens only in Skyrim, any other game works perfectly.
Are you talking about NPC voices? Sound is quiet when looking at the NPC, but sounds okay when you turn to the left or right?
If so, you have to disable 5.1/7.1 and use plain stereo as Skyrim doesn't work well with true 5.1/7.1.
If using Realtek, set your speaker configuration to stereo for Skyrim.
