Good one handed weapon for low level
Ok, so im level 11 and am looking for a one handed weapon (I prefer sword and shield or sword and magic to two handed slow weapons). At the moment im using a ebony sword which is doing its job alright , however I was looking for a few alternatives

Also is the ebony sword an average weapon at my level?

I am still stuck on the part where you are level 11 and already have an Ebony weapon...

try making two daggers, do not enchant them, now use Elemential Fury with your unchanted daggers = slice and dice time.

Topped only by Daedric and Dragonbone. I dont think I've gotten Ebony until around level 20 or so.

Ebony is extremely good stuff for that level. It's wholly obtainable, it just means they've bashed a Draugr Deathlord or five. As a note, you don't start getting Ebony loot until the mid-thirties I believe. At level 11 or so, I think you're expected to have like, elven or dwarven gear at that point. I know I did, but then again I ran almost the entire save on just what I looted, was rewarded with, found or just outright stole.

Can't enchant ebony at that level (rare). But after killing dragon with delphine go up the hill to orc camp to their quest 'forgemasters fingers' and then you can mine ebony ore, convert to ingots and upgrade your ebony stuff etc. ( Or just enter and go to mine and mine it, never done it yet)

Easier than the Forgemasters Finger's quest, there's an Orc in Shor's Stone. Sell him some iron ore, which the blacksmith has for sale or can be found in the (spider filled) mine in town. He'll make you Blood Kin for that.

May not be at a level to enchant, but there are many ways to get ebony ore at that level for upgrades etc. Ingots are rare and this is the only mine at this stage in the game.

A quick look at the UESP says the the base damage of an ebony sword is 13. Excluding magic swords, you're not going to get much better than that. However, if you're talking about magic swords as well, then you have a lot more options. I would recommend Dawnbreaker, a unique sword/Daedric artifact you get as a reward for completing Meridia's daedric quest.
