Smartcast Help?
I've been using the mod Smartcast[www.nexusmods.com] to play a 2 Handed warrior who can use spells. However, I've realized that I can cast a spell while attacking, and it will cost no magicka. Any solutions to this? I don't want it to be as easy as just casting Fast Healing over and over, with no concern for Magicka.

Thats not normal at all. Smart cast uses the exact same magicka mechanics as the base game, it just applies rules on when they should cast, so there shouldn't be a difference there.
Try reinstalling the mod, and also make sure that those spells drain magicka normally when cast normally

Okay, I'll try reinstalling. However, I knwo it consumes magicka as normal when cast normally. Also, I first tried Grimy Utilities[www.nexusmods.com] to do it, but I deleted that in favor of smartcast for this very reason: It was doing the same thing.

You must decide under what circumstances smartcast casts the spell. It casts no matter what when the described circumstances are met. To use your example of Fast Healing. If you set it so that if you fall at or below 25% health it auto-casts, then at 25%, no matter what, you cast Fast Healing. Hands full? Doesn't matter. The only way to stop it is to not have enough mana to cast it. Or if you set it so that if you have less than 0% mana it'll cast. But since you have no mana...

EDIT: Smartcast is a tricky mod. If it's breaking your immersion, then either disable it, or find a workaround such as Ilisted above.

Hmm, odd. I would suspect that maybe something else or one of your others mods is affecting the way that spells detect being cast, as both mods definitely work for me.

He says that its not taking away mana, not that he doesn't have any left.
