Why can the Dragonborn not become High King of Skyrim? (Spoilers)
Pretty straightforward question.

You can become the thane in pretty much every hold. You can claim the jagged crown of the high king. By right and ancient nord custom, you could also do trial by combat for the position. To top it all off, you are the dragonborn of legend, and put down more dragons in your journey through Skyrim, then what the whole human race did 3 eras ago... and you do it single handedly for the most part.

So cannonicly, why can the dragonborn not call for a moot, for judgement to be passed, for him to be voted in as high king?

Especially with the fact he could present the ancient crown of the high king, which would grant him the title of high king as right of possession. Or let alone through combat, which he could literally just shout the challenger out of existence.

Then there's also the innumerable deeds. From killing all sorts of dragons. Putting down Alduin. Slaying the most powerful vampire(?) in all of Tamriel.

Along with doing the people of Morrowind a huge service by putting down the first dragonborn, and ending his tyranny.

Let alone all the property he owns to top it all off, and the huge sums of money he posses. Also can't forget about him bringing crime to an alltime low, as I've never seen so many dead bandits (left in the wake of the dragonborn) in my life, which he also could've converted their lairs into his own property/land imo.

Also not asking for a mod. Pretty sure there is one out there. But I'm asking why historically/canonnicly.

Just asking why it is not possible in game, and why would the dragonborn not force the point, since technically he has every right to.

There's a mod where he/she can become High King of Skyrim. Probably doesn't recognize you as such though.
Well, for one, with the after the Civil War just about every Jarl will be a puppet to their faction, that really wouldnt care what the Dragonborn did. Tha Jagged Crown of ancient Nordic tradition is just that, ancient Nordic, and hasnt been used for thousands of years, and doesnt have that much actually bearing. But on to the largest point, the Dragonborn doesnt have to do any of this. You dont have to become Thane of any hold, nor own any property, or only own 5 gold pieces ect ect. It depends on your character. For instance, a racist Khajiit bent on the extermination of all non-khajiit wouldnt be the best person to put on the throne. And if you do assume that the Dragonborn does finish all quests, buys all houses, ect ect, then he would be an demented meglomaniac that changes his moral standpoint to fit what he currently finds useful. He could save Solthsiem from Miraak one day then the next blot out the sun and rampage through Whiterun as a Vampirelord. Not to mention, I doubt the Dragonborn possess much political skill anyway. And then if Bethesda does decide they want to make him High King, they would have to decide what questlines he did and did not do, what race he was as I doubt many people would be happy if an Orc sat upon the throne of Skyrim, what his morals were ect ect, and that would lead to a cannon Dragonborn, which would make the freedom of Skyrim and being to create a character useless.

I think they strongly indicate the Dragonborn does at the end. Likely to be rolled up in a Dragonbreak, since they don't go ahead and just have the coronation of a new monarch the indication you felt from the beginning was becoming High King yourself. That, or they were hiding what would happen after Ulfric or the Empire became in total control of Skyrim again. But this makes sense with the other games, even if you never became a monarch before. It would be new there, but the hint seems pretty heavy still.
