Just a minor complaint.
Why don't the Tribunal Masks have an armor rating? I mean they do cover the face and would provide some sort of protection. Okay complaining over carry on about your day.

Make a mod.

I could try, but I wouldn't know where to start. I used to be pretty good with computers, but I have gotten out of practice in the last 10 years or so.

I think they don't have any armor rating because they're masks. Sure, they might be made out of the same materials armor is made out of, but it's just a piece of metal over your face. Sure, it'll stop a punch or something, but a single stab of a dagger or just a random arrow is enough to break through the mask. There are no extra layers, there is no overlapping, it's not made with the same intention an armor is made

But hey, it's jut what seems logical to me. I have no idea about how armor is made, so I might be completely wrong.

They are the same weight as some of the heavy armor gear So why wouldn't they be able to stop an arrow or a dagger thrust?

Have not used this myself. I think, but I may be wrong, Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade will allow you to set them as armor in the MCM.

If not (or if you are using them as part of Immersive Armours) it's not especially difficult to change them into armour pieces in TES5Edit, provided you know your way around the tool, and/or follow a good, clear guide. This is apparently not a good idea on an existing game where you already have the items you wish to change, though.

It is Immersive armors that allow you to set the type of armor whether clothes , light, heavy but not the tribunal masks.
I was just in game myself and was thinking the same thing.I will provide a link to a thread where we have been discussing the use of TES5Edit to change the values.
I t is my plan to do so very shortly.

To help, as that thread is getting large, post #55. It explains for how to change the ingot needed in tempering, but the process is the same.

PerpetualNomad,

Since it is your thread and your idea, what Armor rating do you think light and heavy variants of each be?

I will wait to make tha AR changes for you to respond while I try to plug the variants into the levelled lists and make new craftable recipes for those items.

I am going to beg the Immersive armors mod maker to either allow me to upload this new mod either on a new mod page or if they want they can have the new plugin for their web site. Hopefully they will allow me to do either for those that do not understand or intimidated by the CK or the TES5Edit.

Once it is done of course but they do have the right to deny either of my proposals without any reason and without any hurt feelings on my part or by anyone else.

I really not sure, but off the top of my head I was thinking 10 or so based on what they are made of. I was trying to think of the amor rating of the Cultist Masks, but I can't remember what it is. I was thinking of having the Tribunal Mask and helm combination on par with the Cultist Mask to start, but I don't know if that would work or not.
Clever Monkey Nov 21, 2015 @ 7:01pm
just as a test I kept the unarmored version but created light and heavy armor versions. the stats are;

heavy ebony 1/2 ebony helmet- light 1/2 that
bronze 1/2 steel helm and light 1/2 that
gold and silver 1/2 iron helm and the light 1/2 that

I put in arequest to Immersive armors and hope to hear from them and hope they will let me do something for it

I added the new masks to the tribunal mask lists and created crafting and destruction recipes and set the AR and set decent values and rworked the existing recipes.

TES5Edit makes it so much easier than the creation kit.

just to let you know the cultist mask is the same AR as steel helmet it is a heavy masl that without additional mods can not be worn with a helm. Immersive Arnors masks can be used with a helm with no additional mods.
I think the lower AR would be justified with also being able to wear a helm.

Excellent. You certainly know more about this then I do. I tried looking at the CK and now feel like an idiot.

don't. Using advice from the all and powerful Nazenn I was able to use TES5Edit. it is much better for editing data. plus I have uesp on my tablet for another way to look up vanilla info along with several windows on my pc to look at even more stuff.
alot of what I can do is trial and error and then doing it over and over.
