You go to your magic menu, look for the spell you want to use, and you can either right click to have the spell show on your left hand, and left click to have your spell show on your right hand.

you can "equip" the same spell on both hands too.

Just turn down the difficulty until you learn how the game works and what playstyle you want to use.

Well, I suggest you go to your settings-> gameplay, and select adept difficulty for starters...

Also play the game the way you like most, and once you choose a path ie. warrior...archer..stealth-type, mage...make sure you stick to it for a while, because the world around you levels up as you level up, and if you spread your perks too much, it won't help you, especially in the begining.

Of course, nobody stops you from experimenting, but it will cost you later, if you don't specialize, in a certain "way of fighting".

Don't bother to spend perk points on crafting and social skills like..alchemy, enchanting, weaponsmithing, speech etc...those skill trees do provide nice bonuses, but it's a trap to invest in them early on.

Just go for either one-handed weapons or two-handed weapons, if you plan on using swords, go for only 1 type of armor..and also, bow works for every class.

Destruction tree is very underwhelmed in the beginning , don't expect you will be a tough mage if all you do is spend points in the destruction school..cause it won't.

lol. Yes it is pretty annoying. In fact, I wanted to smash my PC with an hammer.
Guess my level is too low to stand all of the monsters in that cave.

Hello to you all who are struggling with skyrim i too was in your position and try as i might i was constantly getting killed so in the end i never went to the jarl of whiterun and reported the dragon attack on helgen instead i went on a walk about around each town collecting potion ingredients and crafting materials i then went mad at leveling my alchemy smithing and enchanting once i had got each of them to maximum i made rings amulets smiths apron and hat and enchanted them with smithing and alchemy made potions for enchanting and repeated the process over and over again whilst i was doing this i was getting level ups hitting me fast and furiously until i was level 500 i then went to see the jarl the rest is history i am now almost 1800 level and my damage is insanely high look at the screens on my skyrim to see what i mean if this worked for me it will work for all

You just started the game? Is there a person named Ralof (the blonde guy in the cart with you at the beginning), or Hodvar (the guy who allows you to customise your character's race and appearance), with you? Either one of them is marked as "essential" at this point, which means that they won't die, and at this point in the game, they're both hard hitters, so allow them to take the brunt of enemy attacks. Also, if you see a multicolored pool on the ground, it's lamp oil, so igniting it with any fire spell will severely damage any enemy caught in it.
