Why I Hate Talos, But Love The Eight || Spoken Word (Skyrim)
Hey guys, I recently posted a video of a spoken word I created about Skyrim on YouTube:

I'm sure this will probably start another sensless flame-war, but I can't find a single thing to dissagree with in your vid ... nicely worded
Actually, Talos IS a god. Remember that quest, in Oblivion, when you need the blood of a divine, and you use the blood of Tiber Septim ?

Well there is that in-game book, "The Talos Mistake" or something like that that has a pretty good argument that worshipping Talos as a god undermines his achievements as a man which all other citizens of Tamriel can aspire to.

Yes, you make a good point. But I disclaimed in the description of the video that this was an opinionated work, this is how his role made me feel. I'm not saying you're wrong or that I'm right, this is EXACTLY what I wanted, I want us all to debate about this. This is just my side of the coin, I'm open to all interpretations.

The game allows you to choose a side, Imperials or Stormcloaks. In my playthrough I sided with the Stormcloaks but soon began to realize their radical regime was, in my opinion, senseless.

The Stormcloaks are radicals, but I sided with them, because when the Thalmor Storm is coming to the Empire (Lets face it, the Thalmor are gonna attack the empire, as evident if you talk with them), and if Skyrim is independant from the Empire when that storm hits, they don't have to give up troops to defend foreign land

Yay! Someone who thinks down the same path as I do. I too dont beleive hes a god. Its the Nords who dont want to let go of his legend. Talos would be rolling in his grave if he knew how much they abuse his name fo there own purposes. Talos/Tiber was a hero of his "era" That was all, and possibly a strong Dragonborn. Nords seem to cling to him as there saviour which has long perished through time.

Reasons why Talos is a god:
The shrines to Talos work.
He is the greatest nord hero of all time yet he is not seen in sovngarde.
He was the leader of the only human army to ever defeat the high elves. They are jealous of this fact and are trying to wipe his name from history by declaring worship of him as heracy.
But in the end it's just a game!

I say Talos is a god but became devine through horrible and unnatural ways.

I think the word "god" is underdefined in Elder Scrolls.
Talos is Jesus, do you hate Jesus?

You're right, in the end it's the lesser of two evils you have to decide from. This poem/spoken word is supposed to sound like it's written by a victim of radical Stormcloaks. Maybe he/she lost a family member. As a living, breathing member of society in Skyrim, you only see one side of the coin, and either way, you're gonna believe in it with all you are.
