The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
If skyrim armor was real, how much do you think each armor would weigh?
I have a fealing that Daedric, Ebony and Dwarven armor would be insanely heavy.

Oh man... Well, I won't disagree with you. But I won't agree, either. I have no idea about such matters. I just stumbled across this video a while back, and I kinda like the guy's voice, so I watched it. I'm not a big fun of history, anyway.

I understand. But it is not just history, it is reality, and then afterwards the second reality of a story. Somewhere along the line all of this gets betrayed simply because it is not in the history books nor existed before.

Tommorow in real life they could build a time machine, and today and tomorrow still they would call it unrealistic. Then said time machine takes them into the unknown they think they are familiar enough with: History! Then they see something as living and breathing and greater than their few disparate facts they consider in a very strict and unrealistic sense at times.

Plus nobody ever tried taking a fantasy story and comparing it against history as if ours was unrealistic because of the contrast. I'm a writer and history student, and that is what I am getting at.

Go look at the history books too, ours is incredible and carries much to be learned from what has been done already.
There are still used suits of armor in UK castles and they have been worn recently to find out how heavy they are. They soon found out what one medieval hoist was for. It had been outside a castles main door for a very long time with no idea on why, it was used to get a knight in full armor onto his horse.
Some suits were very heavy indeed, some were part suits so they could run about swinging a sword, but the fact remains, each piece is heavy.

Thank you. See, most people I keep seeing are trying to come back from saying all armor was too cumbersome, but then you read about renasiance plate for jousting wouldn't allow the head to move...possibly...

Another thing is the armor is tailored for different people. But that is a good thing to hear about and i will look up more. Thanks
Yeah, but jousting plate wasn't typical, it was specific to, well, jousting, which involved one main form of attack to defend from, and was all done while pretty much sitting still on horseback. Fighting armour, even for cavalry, would have needed to be more mobile, or it would potentially be deadly in and of itself. Would be interested to know which castle "they found out what one hoist was for" at. Seriously, if you had to be hoisted onto your horse with a crane, you'd probably crush the poor creature... (While we're at it, swords didn't typically weigh tens of pounds, either.)

I read somehwere about breeding stronger horses actually, and it would be easier for them instead of a human. You are thinking too heavy.
Full plate armour isn't all that cumbersome if it is well fitted to the wearer.
