(Necroed Thread) Why doesn't I get the Solitude "Proudspire Manor" Housecarl?
I purchased the Solitude home as the only home in skyrim (Did not have an earlier player home) And the wiki says it got a housecarl named "Jordis the Sword-Maiden". She never was there. She is not anywhere. I got all DLCs and unnoficial patches (installed them before i made the save). The whole home got upgraded when i got it because i saved up lots of gold to wait to only get that house. But she is not there? Why?

She\s a Housecarl. You need to become a thane for her to appear. Go talk to Elisif about the details.

You need to be a thane to even buy the home. And I am. Stil no housecarl...

Oh. Well, in that case, I suggest using a console.

Open it with ` button (below Esc and above Tab) and type in "moveto player 000A2C8F" (without the " " symbols) and press enter. She should appear next to you

Some people (*cough* gnewna *cough*) might come over and tell you about why you shouldn't use the console, but don't worry, that command is pretty safe

Some people will appear and tell you about why you shouldn't use the console, but that command is pretty safe
Have used commands earlier. When you buy the children room for the solitude house the door to it will appear inside a wall (used disable command to fix it).

Could there be a chance that Jordis is still in the Blue Palace? The only two housecarls that I've ever actively used are Lydia and Rayya, and they never showed up at my player home until after I've talked to them at the place where they first show up.

Well, yes. After you've become a thane, they will wait for you near the entrance to the building, and they will automatically speak to you. How did you miss that part?

I don't know. I of course walked to the front when i got the key. She was not at any of the entrances... So i don't know. This has happened on both characters i made

No, not near the entrance to the house. She will wait near the exit from the Jarl's place. For example in Whiterun, Lydia will wait for you next to a pillar, in Dragonsreach

Was none people there apart from they who normally stands there. Trust me, i would notice her if she standed there and waited. I was even going through the paimaint twize to fix another bug...

1. You CAN purchase Proudspire without being thane.

2. The housecarls for Solitude, Windhelm, Markarth and Riten appear in your home after you purchase the homes and become thane of those holds.

Edit: If you have meet the criterria for thane and they have not showed up then you have a major problem with your game.

I can't find my Solitude House Carl either. I upgraded to the PC version, to get the additional stories. I played the Consol version first, and she was at the house, waiting. I cannot find her anywhere. I haven't gone after the wolf queen yet, and that will be my next step, Or the Thaelen (sp?) Embassy.

I may have figured it out. Or not. Since I had played the game before, I did not purchase the house in White Run. It might be a bug in the game, based on this. Do I want to start over AGAIN? Thinking about it. That would be the only way that I can thing of to confirm or deny this theory? Hypothesis?

I'm just advising you that you also should look at the date of the thread. Sometimes they are considered totally dead.
