Best Weapon to use against dragons?

what would you class as being the appropriate wepaon to kill a dragon, bearing in mind the gamer who is playing this game to be honest has quite Rubish (sh*t) more like wepaons that do jack ! and also flames tht dont do anything either :/ so confused/.

Easier to hit from a distance and dodge the Dragon around rocks.

bows or powered magic. Don't use flames against dragons, they have a low range. Instead, use fireball which goes on forever (as far as i can tell)

"Bend Will" Works 95% of the time. Take a ride.
If you instead let them fly off, they will fight for you until their service to you is finished.
I consider them "obligatory combat support".

It would be nice to know what class you are using, but early game you can't go wrong with a Shield and Weapon or Two-hand weapon. If you're doing some type of mage or spellsword class, use lightning spells. Once you start the Blades portion of the main quest you can get a one-hand sword called Dragonbane it does extra damage to dragons.

Also an easy potion to create to protect you from dragon attacks is Dragonstounge (plant) + Snowberries. It makes a Resist Frost potion but it also gives you Fire Resist as well. You can find tons of the plants around Kynesgrove and Windhelm outskirts.

Dragonbane sword found in skyhaven temple, also wearing Miraak's Robes, gloves and boots will really protect you against a Dragons breath

use your shout Dragonrend whenever you see a Dragon pull his head down and then back, he is about to shout at you = Hit him with Dragonrend which will stagger him, then go to town on him with your Dragonbane sword.

Esbern has a potion for the Dragonborn, but first he must 3 new Blade members, then take them out to kill a dragon that Esbern tells them about. Kill Dragon with no one dieing and then give Esbern a Dragonbone and a dragonscale-i do believe. Drink the potion to gain an Active effect to help protect you against Dragons.
