Anyone experienced with Wrye Bash know what this means?
When I hit 'rebuild bashed patch' I get a little pop-up with this:

ubyte format requires 0 <= number <= 255
<bash.brec.ModWriter instance at 0x134CD800> LLCT B (317,)
ubyte format requires 0 <= number <= 255
<bash.brec.ModWriter instance at 0x134CDE90> LLCT B (319,)
ubyte format requires 0 <= number <= 255
<bash.brec.ModWriter instance at 0x134CDE90> LLCT B (293,)

It still does rebuild the patch (the message comes up when the patch is finished rebuilding, and can't be interacted with until I tick the 'ok' box on the other pop-up that shows when it's finished rebuilding), and everything *seems* okay in my game, but, well, I don't want to just ignore weird messages... (I'm restarting anyway, because of other things, but I was testing it out and couldn't see any obvious ill-effects) Googling hasn't come up with much, the WryeBash readme doesn't seem to mention anything like it.

Just tried it again and this time I got a message to check an error dump file thingy which doesn't say anything, but WryeBash.exe.log says this:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw", line 87, in <module>
File "bash\bash.pyo", line 289, in main
IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: u'C:\\Windows\\system32\\BashBugDump.log'

The only thing I can think of that I've done differently is I changed a couple of the bash tags on one of my mods (Immersive Jewelry) according to the mod's instructions... Load order:

I don't know ,,, but some simple thoughts on it.
Sounds like windows authorization have you set wyre bash to run as Administrator? Or have you recently changed how Wyre bash is accessed? Via MO or now outside of MO?

Hmm, I haven't, BUT I noticed the other day that my TES5Edit is suddenly for some reason run-as-admin (which I did NOT change). It looks like WryeBash's executatble doesn't require run as admin type thing (doesn't have that logo or anything) and I haven't changed how it's accessed, but maybe if I try re-configuring it as an executable for MO... :/ Thanks :)

Just tested it out on another profile - without the mod that I changed the bash tags for - and it sems to run fine, no pop-up.

I thought you were supposed to run all tools through MO so that it will work on all mods controlled by MO. I nearly always run all items as Admin to try saving those sort of issues
Hope it helps .... but there should be a Wyre Bash error message site!
gnewna Oct 2, 2015 @ 3:56am
Yeah, I always run TES5Edit, LOOT, WryeBash etc through MO. TES5Edit has just suddenly decided it must be run as admin which MO does not like (gives me warnings about elevation) but I can't figure out how to change it back.

What I meant was, maybe somehow the 'configure as executable' thing where MO knows what to look for had gone wonky, however, I just tested with and without Immersive Jewelry (the mod I changed bash tags for as per instructions) and it seems to be related to that, so IDK if maybe I did something wrong when I changed the tags...

With Loot using file manager and going to Loot directory and rightclicking on Loot.exe compatiblity tab setting this to run in Admin should lock loot into admin mode even when accessed through MO.
gnewna Oct 2, 2015 @ 4:14am
Hmm, wait, no, the non-edited version of Immersive Jewelry still seems to give that pop-up. Hrm.
Eternie Oct 2, 2015 @ 5:35am
Nothing stopping you from working through the Mod organizer Mods list and setting admin rights on all of them especially any like Immersive Jewelry that seem like they are having an issue.
gnewna Oct 2, 2015 @ 5:36am
Hmm, I'm not sure I want to give admin rights to mods... Plus IDK if that's the actual problem. Thanks, though, I'll give it some more thought when my headache goes away :)

The message basically means, that bash wants to write a byte but the contents are > 255, so it wont fit in a byte. Write cause reading a byte gives by definition a value within 0-255. Prolly the result of a failed merge.

A constructed example: the hair length of an npc is represented by a number between 0-255 aka a byte, now bash tries to merge records and comes up with a length of 7563. It isnt that constructed cause it happens in oblivion.

Sadly this doesn't help you the slightest. Run Tes5Edit on the patch and check for errors. If that doesnt help, either find the offending mod in the log or you go though the tedious process of disabling mods one at a time till you find the offender.

I wont take it lightly though. In the (real) oblivion example, the game will crash once it spawns the npc with the invalid hair lenght

It definitely seems to be something to do with Immersive Jewelry...

I ran TES5Edit on my Bashed Patch and right clicked and hit Check for Errors (which I'm assuming is the correct thing but maybe there's a more involved thing that I should have done?) and it just gave an All done! message with no errors listed. IJ has its .esp file available as a separate download (because it was uploaded as a minor update as well as full new file) so I might try downloading that and see if it's got the same problem... Thanks for the explanation, I'm still kinda not entirely sure I understand but I have a bit more of an idea what's up, if not how to fix it...

I noticed there's no Requiem in that LO. :'(
gnewna Oct 2, 2015 @ 9:02am
Oh, I still love Requiem, I just wanted to try some different stuff, was getting frustrated with certain aspects of Requiem (my fault, not the mod's, really) and so on.
