CK. Creation Kit. It's a tool that you can dowload on Steam. It was created as a modding tool by Bethesda.

CK is how you get it into the game, but as for the actual porting process, you'd need to use Blender.

Depending on the game you want to import from, you will also need mesh and texture conversion tools, and probably also NifSkope, NifUtilsSuite, DDSconverter. As for Blender you need an older version, v2.49b. Using these tools needs a lot of studiying, in particular Blender as documentation is only available for the latest versions (v2.5x+).

Damm. And how much RAM do I need for CK?

If you can play the game, you have enough RAM.

Incidentally, porting over armour from another game then making it available to the general public would be considered copyright infringement, which is illegal. While you can use it on a personal basis under the Fair Use provisions of the regulations, you are not allowed to distribute it unless you have permission from the copyright owner.

... even if you are porting items from Morrowind or Oblivion to Skyrim!

Got a quick question about this sry to go off topic, but there's a weapon mod that I would like to convert from F3 to F4 in the future, will the new engine make the gun look more up to date doing all of that or will it look the same like it has on gamebryo engine?
Bansheebutt Oct 1, 2015 @ 3:34pm
It'll probably be fine.

It's worth noting that people have ported assets from morrowind into skyrim. The brass tacks between the games have been very similar for years.

Thanks.

It's pretty much impossible to tell until people get their hands on both the game and the editor, but chances are you'll at least be able to port it over. Though the game engine is not going to have any impact on the meshes and textures of the weapon itself. They'll still be the same ones that were used in Fallout 3.

ESPECIALLY if you are porting from one elder scroll game to another. Sorry to bring the bad news, but Bethesdas lawyers are quite... sensitive. Look what happened to the project Morroblivion. The mod itself even required you to own BOTH Morrowind and Oblivion to run, and that still didnt help. Now there is a new project called Skywind, and far as I know they are trying to avoid the failure with Morroblivion by making all assets from scratch.

There are SOME companies that have already given permission though. CD project red allows you to port any assets from their witcher games to any game. So does the makers of TERA if I remember correctly. Bioware allows it to a limited degree by allowing porting between their dragon age series, but you still cant use their assets in games outside the series. Did I forget someone?
