Only one I know of is apache sky hair, it's better for female hairs imo as many of the male
hairs look a bit emo.

If they are 2 or 4k I have no idea but it's the main hair mod afaik.

KS Hairdos is also awesome, and has a HUGE selection (400+) of styles. For the vanilla hairs, I'd go with Superior Lore-Friendly Hair which makes them look much nicer, it doesn't change the styles or make them less 'static', but it is a big improvement. Can be a bit overly bright, but there are options in the installer to get the look you want.

Superior Lore Friendly Hair is great, but it is only one file, hairlong.dds. Install More Realistic Hair first.

More Realistic Hair: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/3397/?
Superior Lore-Friendly Hair http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36510/?

ApachiiSkyHair: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10168/?

I suggest installing the male and female versions and then the full version on top as the male and female have a few hairstyles not included. The file sizes are pretty large though so it's your choice.

You will likely need OneTweak or ShowRaceMenu precache killer to prevent your game from crashing when loading massive hair mods.

Yeah, most vanilla hairs use hairlong though, there's probably a few NPCs whose hair isn't changed by SLFH but I've never noticed them if so. (Another option by the way is AOF Believable Hair http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4307/?) That said, I've just downloaded More Realistic Hair to fill in any gaps that may have been left.

OneTweak is worth having by itself, ShowRaceMenu precache killer is only necessary if you don't use RaceMenu which I forget not everyone uses (it's awesome, has loads of new sliders, lets you create custom colours for hair, makeup, skintone etc). http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29624/? I only recently started using OneTweak but I've used RaceMenu for ages and (since the pck was included) haven't had any problem loading up multiple hair mods.

Oh, there's also Lovely Hairstyles which adds a small selection of hairs that are mostly closer in style to the vanilla ones, and use the vanilla hair textures, so will benefit from any retexture mods you use (not sure if any of them don't use hairlong.dds).

Just a quick sidenote on OneTweak, do not forget to set windowed mode on in the options menu of the launcher. This will allow you to take advantage of running in windowed mode for the slight boost in performance. IMO, Skyrim needs all the help it can get.

Not sure if there's any hi-res textured ones out there yet but indeed, Apachii and KSHairdo's are the usual suspects at the mo, though IMHO KS is superior overall. I do also use Oblivion hair and numene(?) hair, which have some interesting useable stuff in them too.
