One handed power attack
Do you know how to do a one handed power attack with the joystick?

I don't see it explained in the instructions anywhere.

Thank you.

Hold the corresponding attack button down instead of just tapping it to power attack. Your movement is also taken into account as you hold the button down to do forward, back or side power attacks. If you're dual wielding, or both hands are empty, you can also hold both buttons down to do a combo power attack. If you've got the appropriate perks, you can also do a running power attack by dashing, then holding the attack button down.

Thank you, sorry, stupid question, but how do you dash with the joystick?

I think it's usually one of the left shoulder buttons. I'm not too sure of the defaults though.

Okay, so I held down dash and did a running power attack and the screen said:

"Critical Damage"

but the monster I was attacking lost almost no hit points.

Can you explain that?

Critical Hits do not do much extra damage at all, they only deal 50% more BASE damage of a weapon, that's literally single digit points for most weapons. A deadric sword for example, has a base damage of 14, a critical hit does a bonus 7 damage, that's it. So unless you have almost no perks, skills, or improvements to a weapons, crits matter very little.
