[SOLVED] Unable to see underwater.
Im playing on Lenovo y580 with Win8. Specs: i7 3630qm and GTX 660m and 16 GB RAM.
When im swimming very close to the surface I can clearly see whats under water but when I dive just a few centimeters lower I can only see my HUD on top of black, blue or green screen. Is there any fix for it or any mod that wont use much graphics resources and will fix it?

There are mods that fix this though i don't know any from the top of my head. Basically it's a filter that's applied while underwater. Said mods just remove the filter, resulting in no extra usage or anything.

Look for clear waters or pure waters project. IIRC one of those has that feature

I fixed it with editing two numbers in my .ini file. I can't remember which exactly but I will return when I find out.

SkyrimPrefs.ini

[Imagespace]
bDoDepthOfField=0
iRadialBlurLevel=0

I think they are the ones.

Tried it earlier but didn't work when I teleported from Whiterun to some lake. Still plain green background.

This is what I did. I didn't need any Mod; I think using a mod to fix a problem that wasn't meant to be there is kind of weird.

I opened up my SkyrimPrefs.ini file and made these changes:

From:

iRadialBlurLevel=2
bDoDepthOfField=1

To:

iRadialBlurLevel=1
bDoDepthOfField=0

I tried with iRadialBlurLevel=0 but it didn't work. Gonna try with =1

Tried with both on 0 and with depth 0 and blur 1 and none fixed it. Tried even changing file to read only but that didnt changed it. Are there any non-invasive mods that dont eat much graphics resources on steam workshop that are easy to install and will fix it?

This mod is made to see further underwater and delete the water fog, but my issue is that I have just a plain green and HUD on top of it

KleX, I tried all the tweaks, too, and all the mods I could find. This mod is the only thing that worked for me. Green Water Fix at Skyrim Nexus:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14007/?

Good luck.

Thank you all for support over here. The mod proposed by Sue d. Nim solved the problem.

If you get BLACK water, this is generally a depth-of-field problem. Fixing it the INIs as suggested above may not always be enough. I found that I had an MCM running that was independently controlling this (i.e., changing it after the INIs were loaded at game startup), and had to set DoF to 0 in that as well, and suddenly my water worked properly.
