Realistic Needs and Diseases vs Ineed?
Which one should I use?

I would say that they both have their merits, ineed allows you to actually set the timescale of skyrim either slower or faster than it normally is, so you can have shorter or longer days. I've always felt that the vanilla skyrim days were too short for my taste. Reaslistic needs and diseases, does a great job at both providing the need to eat and drink, and tells you what food will do, while making diseases a real challenge if you don't get them taken care of quickly.

I tried both and I must say I like RND more I found Ineed somewhat to simplistic for my liking.

Way too many mods that think immersion is all about the complexity.
Where's the mod?

I'll give my 2 cents on this, since I've used iNeed quite a bit since my last post.

iNeed doesn't have diseases, and the diseases that RND has work really well. I can eat raw food with iNeed and the worst it does is sap my health. With RND, I contract a disease from raw meat, so that is pretty cool.

I did get the spoilage to work in both mods. Neither one did an amazing job at it, but I found that with iNeed, spoiling food could be put into a container, and that would reset the clock. Also, all the food of a type is lumped together with iNeed. If I have 5 stale apples, and I find 5 fresh apples, I now have 10 stale apples. It's a really dumb system. With RND food did not do that. And stale food with RND would sap stamina and other stats, while stale food with iNeed would do nothing except require that I eat more of it.

For water, RND has a cool system where you can boil river water to purify it. iNeed doesn't have anything like that, but it does have the thing where you can get drinking water from a waterfall(though I could never get it to work). RND also made it so recipes like soups required water. And charred or salted foods in RND would increase thirst. It's really awesome how things work together. iNeed does nothing like that. iNeed does include native well support, and it adds wells too, but I see this as more of a bandaid for not being able to collect water from any puddle. Plus there is a mod which works with RND that adds wells.

iNeed has the follower needs as well, and the ability to feed the horse to raise it's stamina. Those are things I would have loved to see in RND. And iNeed doesn't require patches for a number of mods since the patches are included. However, this makes it extremely hard to make your own food mod(as I discovered) because you can't just make you own patch for it. You are at the mercy of the mod author. I prefer the way RND did it because downloading patches isn't as big of a deal as people make it out to be.

Lastly, iNeed has the timescale option, which is cool but literally the exact same thing as adjusting the timescale with the console. There is no reason to consider this when choosing which one to use.

I prefer RND. The diseases alone make it the better mod, but it also uses a superior food spoilage system, and I prefer the way it does drinking water. RND will use more plugins because it requires more patches, which is rectifiable if you merge them. I guess for the less savvy modder, iNeed is the clear choice, but for someone like me, it's too limited.

Yes. iNeed has food spoilage, but I believe it is turned off by default. Necroposting is my new hobby.

I'm currently using "Total Realism - Basic Needs", I like how you can die if you dont fullfill the needs.

It seems iNeed has better UI than my current one (which only display text). Does iNeed kill you? If you don't drink/eat/sleep for long time?

Not sure, but I installed both at the same time because I thought they complimented each other. Might need to check that out I suppose. RND can kill you, it's a toggleable setting in the MCM. Pretty sure it's RND that does it, but hell, it could just as well be iNeed just the same. I guess if I had to pick one, I'd say RND is my favorite for the features and the wider range of coverage from drinking/eating to how you can contract diseases from the environment/food, as well as from animals/creatures. I'm also glad I installed a mod that increased the info about diseases, since vanilla Skyrim is lacking in that department. Can't remember that one's name though. :-(

Despite my previous reply, I have also become very attached to RDN. I did another run with iNeed, while testing some mod combinations, but moved right back to RND. :)
