Housecarl and Lakeview Manor?

I have Lydia for Whiterun but where can I get one for the Lakeview DLC house that I'm creating? Can it be any folllower? If so how can I make them the carl? If not where do I find one..

You can gain a house carl from Falkreath. You can make him or a follower into a steward for your home.

Most of them offer it themselves when you are near your home , or you can ask them using dialogue when you are near your home. There are a few followers who do not have this option.

Alright. For each hold you can become a Thane of you get a free Housecarl. Well most of them;

Whiterun - Lydia
The Rift - Iona
Haafingar - Jordis
The Reach - Argis The Bulwark
Eastmarch - Calder

With the Hearthfire DLC you also get

Falkreach - Reyya
The Pale - Gregor
Hjaalmarch - Valdimir

Now for your question about stewards, for each homestead you have you can only recruit one steward each. Here's the list;

That would be inefficient, to say the least. I mean, who's going to decide what's more important: folding your undershorts, or shaving Barbas' hairy butt? Things could get waaaay too complicated real quick. ;-)

I usually make a follower into a steward. Then you have 2 NPC's guarding your home: the housecarl AND the steward.
