Can't interact with pedestals?

I'm in the Nchardak aqueducts, and after putting down the bridges and lowering the water level when I go to use the pedestal to open the last door, it won't work. I don't even have the option to place the cube. Is there a way to fix or get around this?

UESP mentions such a thing may happen, but doesn't suggest a fix. Still, take a read through this page, there may be something you're missing:

If all else fails, I would assume that entering the console with the ~ key and entering "tcl" would do the trick - this allows you to fly through the terrain. Repeat to resume normal movement.

As with any time you use the console, make an extra save first.

Thank you =) I was actually able to use the disable command on the door and gate, but yours sounds much more interesting =P
