Sigdis Gauldurson
What drunk gnome at Bethesda designed this boss? Being level 30 I have not been able to beat him, not even on easy. Not that I'm dying, but I can't get him to lose health as everytime I get close enough they all just shout me away, or simply teleport. Once they just kept spamming unrelenting force on me until I couldn't move at all. And what I hear is friends who have managed to defeat him the reward is discouraging and borderline insulting.

You have to figure out which apparition the real one and hit him hard with arrows / magic. Two fo them are copies. If this is the guy I am thinking of, see which one has different headgear, he is the original.

Sigdis Gauldurson is part of a longer quest, where you collect these items. The end result is a quite nice reward.

As cfs111 said, focusing the right target is the key to victory.

Well, if you haven't worked the crafting skills, at least.

But yeah, if you're trying to use melee on this guy, ur doin it rong. Back off, dodge around, throw attacks back from range. He's not that difficult.

Self enchanted items are indeed better for special use, but they can only have in maximum of 2 enchantments after Enchanting skill level 100.

End reward is very nice for a mage, nightbalde or a spellsword, due to range of points equing 9 character levels. Warriors and thieves are likely better off with self enchanted items, for more spesific use.

Edit: Typo. Happens, when I write after 03:00 at morning.

Also, once you damage him, his health will always show that he's damaged when targeting him. If you stay at range, they don't even attack you. Usually, I just 1-shot him with a sneak attack from a bow before he even starts teleporting.

That does sound like a glitch. Are you using Unofficial Patches and/or other mods? If you are, then could you post your full load order here?

I fought him about a week ago, and shouts every few seconds sounds about right. Certainly it takes about five seconds to get up if you're hit by one. I probably ragdolled about three to five times.

If you damage an illusion, or try to get close to him, he'll teleport - so don't do that. Go for the Gauldurson that doesn't glow.

Also don't try to "run and hide". Go to the platform where his coffin is, so you've got room to manuever, and simply stand in plain view. You've got plenty of time to get there while he's getting out of his coffin, and you'll never get shouted out of it. It's fairly easy to dodge from there, so just strafe around while pegging arrows at him.

Remember you can shout! Heck, I always have to Whirlwind Sprint shout to get in in the first place - can never find the level for that one drawbridge... Slow Time or some such might theoretically be useful to you.
