Bleak Falls Barrow Word Wall Broken *FIXED*

I started a new game today and after running through the helgen quest and getting to riverwood i get the golden claw quest from Lucan. I have done this quest i don't know how many times before, but now when I reach the word wall nothing happens?? There's the usual chanting and gusty wind noise but the rune doesnt glow and I don't learn the word. Obviously this is a massive bummer because this stops the draugr deathwhatever from getting out of his coffin so i can't get the dragonstone and progress with the main quest!! Does anyone know a fix for this?

edit: Thanks for everyone who took the time to comment and give me a hand, it turns out that I needed to reinstall skyrim unbound and enable my player to be dragonborn, this was a bit of a weird fix and a bit of a stupid mistake from me.

Thanks for the very detailed guide, but after validating my files the problem is still present. This is a pretty major bug and im not sure what to do about it. Do you have any other ideas or should i just try to restart?

Do you have any mods? It might be a load order or resource priority problem. If you do have mods, then did you run LOOT to sort your load order?

I have quite a large load order and i do use loot to sort it so i dont think its a problem with that... The only new mod i have installed for this playthrough is USLEEP and i dont think it would be because of that. Thanks again for your time anyway.

I've restarted and made it all the way back to this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ word wall and it still isn't working! I don't know what to do this is driving me crazy.

USLEEP does not break the word wall.. I use it no issues. See if any mod modifies the word wall in TESEdit. "Apply filter to show conflict loosers" helps narrow it down some. ;)

I hear tell that some mods are rigged to work with USKP, the old "separate" releases of the unofficial patch. These may malfunction when used with USLEEP.

Posting your entire load order certainly wouldn't hurt.

Clicking on things in console with MFG Console active can tell you what mods they are related to:

If you're lucky, this might give you some clue as to which - if any - are affecting the word wall.

I'm no expert, but what you could try to do is progress the game with console commands. If all else fails, this would be the next thing to try, since it's prbably a glitch within one of your mods. Posting your load order would certainly help, there are many experts on Skyrim modding out there, and I'm sure one of them could help you out.

It also apparently unbreaks some things patch 1.9 broke relating to NPC expressions and whatnot. It's one of those mods that're probably worth installing "in general".

Oh, that's certainly possible, and I've got a pretty good idea what set of commands to use.

Problem is that this is likely to happen with all the other word walls in the game too. Better to figure out the cause and fix that, rather than just treating the symptom.

@Alkpaz. I believe that you should already have that console as part of the main framework. It was merged there - with colors.
