How do you leave the thieves guild?

Throw down your armour, denounce them and stick the boot in. They can't die though so just smash them up and run. There's no official way to leave, nor for the other "guilds".

You can go out the same way you came in, but there's also a shortcut through the Riften cemetery.

On a related note, yesterday I was leaving by that route when the courier literally drops down onto the steps and says "I've been looking for you..." and I'm thinking "Now you must die..."

LOL, I'd love to stomp that dude. Anything that takes control of my screen, even in Dragon attacks, grrr!

Real easy, turn around walk away. If you start,or finish Dark Brotherhood after the thieves guild, you will have to return to talk to Devin about your new headquaters, but that's about it.

Hah! That happened too yesterday, when I was trying to trap the dragon in Dragonsreach! I'm like "I'm kind of burning up here..."
