AFT and infinite iron arrows
Hello together,

since I started a new game, my followers only use the iron arrows from Amazing Follower Tweaks. When I use the console command "showinventory", I see that they randomly (?) get 100 iron arrows. Theoretically, this wouldn't be a problem, but I don't manage to make them use the arrows I give them, for example elven arrows. They really only use the iron arrows. Removing these arrows via console with the command "removeitem <ID from iron arrows>" doesn't fix this problem. Either they equip their bow with no ammo, or, in the best case, equip the arrows I gave them for the duration of the battle, but after that, they use their iron arrows again. Does anyone know how I can make them use MY arrows? I don't know if this has an effect on my problem, but I also use the mod Requiem. Maybe this has something to do with it, maybe not.
I would be grateful for any help :)

Sincerely
Everybody-has-to-die

Why do you use console with AFT? You have option to manage both follower inventories. The other one has default items in there, so you can change them permanently.

I have tried to put arrows and a bow inside the inventory, which can only be opened when the option "quick backpack access" is enabled, but the follower still only equips the bow without arrows and just stands there without shooting. What am I doing wrong?

go into their AFT options, gear, enable outfit management. Now you can access their standard gear, if you give them arrows there it should make them use them.

Ah, now I get it ^^ Will test it right away.
Edit: I see now the "normal" backpack, where I always put the items I give them there, as well as arrows. They still don't use my arrows :(
Could my problem be because I play with custom followers, one from Interesting NPCs?

That might as well be. Did you notice that there is a compatibilty patch for Intersting NPCs, under AFT optional files? Filename is AFT_iNPCFix_1_00 and there is a discussion about that under Forums tab (AFT Download page.)

Idk how AFT would affect it, but there has long been an issue with followers and archery. Bear with me, as it's been a while, but I recall having to decide whether to keep my followers using low end bows, or low end arrows. IIRC, if the combo of base damage of their bow and arrow is less than 15 or greater than 22, they will revert to their default bow.

I have experimented with this quite a bit, since reading about it, and have found that I can have them doing a lot of damage, if I keep them using iron arrows and an Elven bow, rather than having them default to a plain old hunting bow, because I tried to give them Elven arrows.

Every now and again, I just go and take away any other arrows they may have on them.

Fixed in Unofficial Skyrim Patch since 1.0 or USLEEP.
