cant forge weapons

I have steel smithing, and i have been able to forge weapons in the past (did a dagger or somehting for Arval thje smith in Riverwind. But now when i go to a forge, only armor shows up. I dont even have the option to forge weapons.

Silly question, but - forge, or workbench?

thanks for looking. forge. not workbench. i have used both in the past, and the griondstone. i know the difference. good question though :)

list on the left of screen is: Hide, Iron, Leather, Studded, Jewelry

anyone have any idea why i cant forge weapons?

Are you able to see any items you lack the materials for? Or are all items visible only ones for which you have the parts?

I'm thinking a mod is involved, are you using any?

i can see items i lack materials for. all the various armor pieces of the types i listed. i have no mods

Does it make a difference which forge you use? I know certain items can only be made at certain forges - I'm thinking that you may've found a forge which limits things it's not supposed to.
