Is there a way to get Breezehome without doing the quest?
Like a console command or anything?

You can always unlock the door, but you wont be able to purchase any of the stuff and Breezehome won't be marked as owned by you so anything that spawns in there you will have to steal.
So in short no, you need to do the quest

I don't think you understand. I don't want to do the quest to unlock it. I just wanted to have a console command to get ownership straight away.

By finding the quest ID for the Breeze Home quest (proper name has slipped my mind), you can use this command to finish it: Player.sqs <quest id>. Beware, doing this can very easily break your game, so make sure that the quest ID you enter is the correct one. Also, this will not give you the home for free but should result in your becoming thane of whiterun, allowing you to buy the home.

EDIT: Also, you can use the Alternate Start: Live another Life mod and choose the option to own a home at the start of the game. Selecting the "Own a house in whiterun (breezehome) will give you the fully furnished house lacking the followers bed area.

Give yourself the key.

Note that if you move to Lydia's location before the quest, she is inside Breezehome but invisible. Breezehome is empty. If you enable Lydia she acts as a normal follower.

Perhaps then use a mod to furnish the home.

Just use Alternate Start Live Another Life mod, it has an option to start the game owning Breezehome. If you use the console for this chances are you will mess up your save and eventually run into many problems.

what quest, killing the dragon at the watch tower? You can't do anything without that, and it costs 5000 septims, cheap as dirt.

Yea you can, I beat most of the game without ever going to the watchtower to fight the dragon. All you have to do is dont go anywhere near the quest start near the tower and you can still get the house.

Except if you complete every faction questline and side quest in one playthrough. The game is not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ infinite.
