Help! Random Energy Bean From Soul Cairn

So i went to the Soul Cairne and got my health sucked from one of those energy crystal things. Didn't die or anything just came back witht hsi really annoying energy beam that gets in my face when I backpedal and stuff because im an archer and have my companions tank the damage (*pfft* what a loser am i right?). Anyways I need to get rid of this. Dying and then respawning fixed it, but it seems to come back everytime I load my game. I also tried fast travelling, travelling through doors, saving and reverting, but I can't seem to get rid of it. Has anyone had this issue before?

Assuming you've got the unofficial patches installed (as you well should), head to the temple in Whiterun and look for a shrine with the title "remove unwanted effects" (or some-such). With luck, that'll sort you out.

Just checked the "Soul Cairn" entry on the UESP, and this seems to be a confirmed bug. According to the entry, fixing it involves getting within range of one of those same crystals, than getting away from it. The entry also says that you can't have the soul husk effect going.
