Steam Hypocrisy - CBBE Restrictions
So, I've been watching a lot of youtube video's of bouncing boobs in Skyrim, and I'm thinking, I'd love to have bouncing boobs in my single player world. After an exhausting eternity of research, I discover an entire encyclopedia of decisions that need to be made, CBBE, UNP, etc, what's compatible with what, and all those questions...

...To make a long story short, what makes me upset is that Steam workshop doesn't feature CBBE, except the Russian Version, because of adult content, BUT it allows Workshop items that REQUIRE CBBE... That's like me having to go to Nexxus to buy a prostitute, then going back to steam to buy the condoms, what gives?

I'm not creating an account on Nexxus just to have bouncing boobies in my game, only to have to download the companions which use CBBE on Steam!

Logic
If you have files that REQUIRE CBBE, then for crying out loud, make CBBE available on Steam Workshop as well. Now it's harder to find vanilla characters since I have to determine if the companions offered requires the RESTRICTED Skyrim MOD...

The hyposcrisy is just astounding! Does anyone else feel the pain here...

Whatever. Your loss.

I think the point is being missed here.... My point is that if steam is going to include workshop items that REQUIRE CBBE, then it should as well provide CBBE, so we can download both from the same location, and NOT have to create another account on another website!

You do realize these mods weren't created by "Steam" and were created by actual people, right? Due to certain restrictions, some which you have already stated, not all mods are available on the Steam workshop. If you want CBBE that badly then you're welcome to go to the Nexus and get it, creating an account isn't dificult, and no it doesn't require a payment. "JUST DO IT!"

can't be bothered less .... If you want it just go to the nexus simple .... the better mods are there anyway.

Is this another thread posted by a Steam Workshop-only user?

Dude, every-single mod ever made were done by Human Hands, and those Mod Authors can decide if they want their work posted on the Workshop or not is up to them or they simply cant because of certain rules saying they cant upload certain content, like CBBE.

You're aboslutely right about the hypocrisy. The obvious solution is for Steam to ban any Workshop mod that requires CBBE to ensure consistency. I'll call Gaben right now to talk to him about this. Hopefully those hundreds (thousands?, I have no idea) of mods will be gone by the end of the day.

Just go to Nexus. If sex is your goal.

It doesn't matter if steam did not make the files, that's obvious, steam is supporting files that require other content not supported on the website. And I don't want CBBE THAT badly, so I'm sticking to Vanilla :)

Try lovers lab if you want sex mods. But if you refuse to make an account for Nexus or anywhere else, thats your problem. No one elses.

CBBE worked differently than what Workshop demands. Workshop requires plugins for mods. It is how Skyrim Workshop was built.

For a body/texture mod like CBBE, those requirements are a problem, because CBBE does not use ESP or ESM files to function. Folder includes Caliente Tools (TexBlend Lite executable and default location for other Caliente tools), Meshes and Textures. There are no plugin files associated directly to CBBE - each of them comes from addons that are not included directly with CBBE.

Additionally, you can't spread BodySlide as a mod and adding it as executable to Steam would likely cause more problems than benefits.

Problems are technical and not due to Steam hypocrisy.

And in the end, Caliente decides where to upload her mods and tools. We can respect her decisions and be grateful that she - and her co-authors - keep providing CBBE content and support for both Skyrim and Fallout 4.

Really? You're going to go there? If sex was my goal I'd go to a sex site, not Skyrim...
