Assigning a new home to Housecarls [Mod or Console]
Recently I've been searching for ways to assign a new home for Housecarls to defend or stay at. For example I can assign Lydia to Lakeview Manor to defend and will stay there when I dismiss her. The reason for doing this is that once I'm thane in every hold, I could assign all my housecarls to Lakeview to defend from bandits and such. Is there any known mods that can do this, or better yet, a console command I can use to assign their home?

Actually "better yet" would be a mod, because console commands can be very fickle things to use for things like this.

Almost every popular follower mod allows you to set new home for your followers. Currently the most compatible one would be EFF. Using a follower mod for this game is very much recommended any way.

if you become thane of falkreath, you'll get Rayya and when you dismiss her, she'll head to lakeview manor as thats her home base, and she walks the land of lakeview keeping it safe. you don't need to do anything with her with follower mod.

I see what you mean that console commands can 'fickle things', I used the resurrect command on Lydia when she fell to the Stormcloaks in the imperial missions, and for some reason she started attacking our squad. :/
Anyway, thank you for responding! I have now downloaded EFF and am enjoying it to the fullest. Had to get rid of Multiple followers lite though, but, EFF does have 9x as many slots as that mod did. (10 vs 100)

With apologies for bumping a resolved issue but it raised a question I hope Ilja (or anyone who has an opinion for that matter) will read... I've been using Immersive Amazing Follower Tweaks (an updated version of AFT) along with My Home Is Your Home to handle my dozen or so followers. It has worked out ok, but I want to know more about EFF and if you folks think that may be a better choice. I am not all that happy with the sandboxing elements of IAFT/MHIYH (especially in regard to custom player abodes) but they were the ones I started with so long ago and sort of just got used to them.

I'll be starting a new playthrough soon so revising mods is not an issue, I will be able to add or discard at will without fear of breaking saves. Should I switch to EFF? Are there complementary mods I should use in addition to EFF? (I read the mod description, I don't care about horses).

Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.

No hard feelings on bumping my thread, I'm happy to help in any way I can. Anyway, I've used AFT only once, and in that time I encountered a serious bug where Aela suddenly went n*** in front of me. I haven't used My home is your home, but I've read that its a tool for moving familiy and followers. EFF is simple enough for me to use and handy if you want to overpower your foes by your allies(seriously, it allows up to 100 followers at once). EFF allows you to do the things those mods do already if not more; the one downfall I see is that when you recuit a follower you have to manually set their importance(default, protected, essential) or else they'll die easily, learned that when I took all of the companions to get the Elder Scroll[Dragon] and only one made it back in one piece. Another downfall is that the mod doesn't reconize they're default gear when being resurrected (via command); so to keep their gear you kind of gotta 'strip' them then give it back to them once they're breathing again.

Pros:
-can control pretty much everything about your followers(including residence)
-followers keep the gear equiped you give them even when dismissed
-has spells that allow you to teleport all your followers to you and command them all at once
-can have 100 followers

Cons:
-must set importance when collecting follower
-default gear is no longer reconized
-summoning followers can be laggy depending on how many you have
-having a lot of followers makes it hard to navigate tight spaces

There may be more, but those are the ones that come off the top of my head.
