Good grass/tree mods?
The trees and grass in my game look pretty bad and I can't find any good grass and tree mods that don't brutally murder my framerate. So any good recommendations of grass or tree mods that look good but don't require too much power to run.

You can always try Skyrim Flora Overhauls earlier versions, specifically the Basic version in the main file section, or the regular, but not the 2.0

For grass, I recommend using SFOs optional SFO on Steroids file if uisng SFO 2.0+ which allows you to edit your ini file to get more grass with less engine processing.
Do NOT use the SFO file on the main Grass on Steroids page, it is for a super old version and not compatible

Thanks Nazenn, I will try them out.

Well the author re-added SFO 2.0f, but did not re-add the Grass on the Steroids SFO edition that was compatible.

I use SFO 2.0f combined with Verdant and Trees HD Skyrim Variation. Verdant uses the Grass on Steroids tweak. I haven't tried the newest version of SFO though.

You can always adjust your iMinGrassSize to improve performace and maybe use Optimizer Textures to reduce the texture quality so you can have better performance.

Verdant is good, but due to the amount of extra trass types it adds, including texture variations, weaker rigs will get a larger hit with it then you would with the GoS tweaks on other more refined mods

I use just Grass on Sterooids (my computer is just average and can't handle some of the more intense graphics mods), and I find it to be pretty good. In fact, the only problem I have with it is trying to find things in the long grass after I kill them! However, if your computer is up to it, the mods cited by Omgwtfbbqkitten, Nazenn, and Aryel_Emrys are all good mods.

The best tree mod for Skyrim was "Lush Trees" which has subsequently been removed from the Nexus but is now a part of "The Ruffled Feather" mod

if it really annoys you, you should take a look at GoS Natural Edition (Vanilla Size).

Thanks everyone. I'm using an older version of the flora overhual and the sfo and it looks a lot better and my framerate still doesn't drop below 40 so thanks everyone.

Actually used that originally! I find it amusing that it's difficult to find things in the tall grass - actually adds to the immersion for me! But good advice for those who would like to use the mod but do not want to go searching for that animal or bandit that they just killed. (Nice thing sbout GOS is that it is very easy to change settings to what you prefer.)

And, Banana Slayer, glad you got a mod that works for you and that you like!
