*potential spoiler* bugfix for repairing the white phial - the briar heart bit (using console)

if, like me, you got to the point where you knobbled the dude to get the briar heart and the quest marker still pointed to his empty corpse after you looted the briar heart then try these console commands:

setobjectivecompleted MS12b 50 1
(this seems to put the heart into your inventory and you should get the "collected" text appear)

if it the quest still doesnt advance then use this console command:

player.setstage MS12b 60
(this seems to advance to the next bit "return [to the dude who gave you the quest]")

*BUT*
when i did this i had collected all the other quest objectives AND i had goten any and all briar hearts out of my inventory (lol i ate them - dunno if stashing or dropping them would also work)

The alias for MS12b was changed to be optional in Unofficial Skyrim Patch v.2.0.0. Quest no longer requires that target is that spesific Briarheart Warrior than in vanilla game. (Bug #1086)

I honestly wouldn't have known either, if I haven't been spending some time reading those files. Not that I do it just for fun, but to find out if various bugs discussed here are already solved.

Some of them gets stuck to my brain, like this one did.

@Hemit this may be a bit late but i had the exact same issue, the fix by OP didnt work until i put a single briar heart into my inventory and went back to Quintus. give that a go.

Necro, but I'm still not able to do anything with the Briarheart in my inventory and the unofficial patch didn't repair this issue for me.

Putting any old briarheart in my inventory didn't work either.
