Why does my Skyrim boot up so slowly?
Okay I have a shortcut to NMM on Steam. I click it and it opens. The I click the option to open and run SKSE in the top left. And from here it will sometimes take as long as a minute to even open the game window.

Now I have about 120 mods including an ENB. Is that the reason it's so slow when booting up?

CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K OC'D @ 4.0GHZ
GPU: 2 MSI Nvidia Geforce GTX 760 Twin Frozr 4GB DDR5 OC Edition in SLI
RAM: 8GB Kingston Hyper X Beast @ 2400mhz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
PSU: Corsair CX750M (Modular)
MOBO: Asus Z87M-PRO
HDD: 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD
SSD: Crucial 128GB MSATA
Case: Zalman Z11 Plus ATX Mid Tower Case

Thanks :D

The mods could be the problem, since your game has to load all of them each time you start (depends on the mod size)
I had that problem too, where my Laptop needed a minute to start Skyrim, but after uninstalling some mods it works after 1-2 seconds now :)
and also run an antivirus on your system, I had some errors wich made my system slower

Because SKSE, and 120 mods including an ENB.

120 isn't that many to be honest. My system could handle a lot more than 120. Just scanned with antivirus and nothing detected. Completely clean.

The mods are the problem. Well, not so much as "a problem" but they take time to load. You run SKSE 1.7 with the memory patch working (including the SKSE ini file)? And is your ENB version one that is new enough to include ENBoost settings? They will not help much with the startup but they do help with running the game better.

Nah my problem is with startup. Game runs flawless at 100 FPS with dips to 90 in heavily wooded areas.

So is it like this for everyone? Does startup take as long as it takes for me?

Yes, but it ultimately depnds on the size of each mod. Oh, and mods short of ENB's don't lag your game by the slightest frame. Rather, they take forever to load. I suggest you delete your ENBs as they are most likely he problem to your loading time.

Nah without ENB it's not worth playing. No going back now :D

Guess I'll have to put up with it. Thanks for the help! :D

my pc is simlar you yours and tend to boot from desktop to menu to in game in about 10-11 seconds. It used to be much higher with ful 2k texture mods and although i was still getting great framerates i was sick of waiting around so i dounloaded the light version - also disabled the intro vid

if you have steam cloud sync active that will mess with boot times , as will being subscribed to mods from the workshop
it really depends on the mods you have installed as to how they will affect boot time ,
i use an enb and it doesnt add to the boot time
not sure but if you have steam on your c drive , and the games stored on an other that might add a second or 2

Nexus Mod Manager-mods only, run through LOOT, plus SKSE to start game = no load times and no crashes
Stonechat Jul 25, 2014 @ 5:38pm
Textures mods also increase the time. I bumped up the several 2k textures I was using to 4k, and aside from everything looking no different, the load times were twice as long.

I'm also having the same issue.
It takes about thirty seconds to a minute and a half to get to the launcher.

I have NO mods installed.
