Frostfall Campfire Placement is Always Cancelled

I have already looked on Google and on the Frostfall pages, so don't tell me to google it.

Now that that's out of the way, my problem is described in the OP. I am not in combat, either. I can wait, and no combat music is playing. There are no enemies around. My exposure doesn't change, though (while I normally keep it off, I turned on Pause Exposure During Combat as an experiement).

How would I go about fixing this?

Do you get any type of error message? Or I mean what does the text on the top left say? Nothing?

Every time I try to build a campfire, it goes into the placement thing for about 0.3 seconds and then says "Placement Cancelled" in the top left corner of my screen.

Do you have the skse thingy? And is it moving slowly?
Like:
I received an error message stating "Your game's scripting system is running too slowly in order for Frostfall to run correctly."
OR
When placing a tent or campfire, the placement marker moves really slowly
OR
My exposure value never changes
OR
Weathersense / Survival Skills takes a really long time to display.
I know you said you checked but just trying to eliminating that possibility.

EDIT: and you tried the troubleshooting option? And the usual reload a save?

Having none of those issues. I have the latest version of SKSE and my scripting system is moving just fine. Weathersense and Survival Skills appear as soon as I press my hotkey for them. My exposure value changes if I don't have "Pause Exposure While In Combat" active (and I'm not in combat, I assure you. There are no enemies around, I checked). Haven't tried placing a tent yet though.

There was one post I read that somoene was detected as swimming for some reason and troubleshooting water apparently fixed it. Not sure if thats relevant.

Try placing a tent please.

I did have a problem once where frostfall crapped out on me, and I deactivated it, made a save and reactivated it. But I'll look more first.

It did it to me a couple of times when I first starting using it. then it fixed itself. I got the swimming thing once and then it fixed itself again. Sorry I couldn't be more help but hopefully it works itself out.

What do you mean by troubleshooting water? I don't remember that being in the frostfall guide.

Frostfall has its own troubleshooting tool. Its in the MCM.

Found this too:

It was an older post, maybe newer versions dont have it. Let me know if it works.

I apologize for taking so long to test this, but turning off advanced placement let me put down campfires and tents. However, there is another problem: I can't use the tent. Every time I try to use the bedroll, Frostfall tells me "You can't use that while in combat."

There is not a single enemy around. Not a single one. There WERE some Draugr "close" to me (if by close you mean 5 IRL minutes of walking distance) but I killed them and Frostfall still says I'm in combat. As stated previously, there is not a single enemy around.

EDIT: Fixed it by sleeping in a former bandit encampment.

I dont think that "you cannot use this while in combat" is related to frostfall. I get that sometimes for other stuff. Even when there isnt any red dots on the compass or anywhere I can see. Just FYI.

Its because you are wet. you have to wait till you're dry then you can place it
