The showracemenu command is quite safe, though.
To be fair, the crash with vanilla UI is rare, but it does not have any inbuilt safeguards against it. RaceMenu does. Note, that chaning your race may still reset some of your skills, so trying that is not adviced.

showracemenu
Bring up character customization menu. Magicka, Stamina, and Health will be spread evenly on using this depending on your character's level. It will remove any custom point distributions. Note: Using TGM command before entering the menu will retain your original levels. Will only modify your attributes/skills/points/etc. if you change the race, sex, or select a preset from the list. Modifying cosmetic things like skin color/warpaint/hair/face shape/etc. will leave your points.
Press ~ to open the console menu.
Simply type:
showracemenu
then press ~ to close the console again.
If you dont have the pc version:
Mwhahahahahahahhahaha sucks to be you.
Forgive me.
A got a few sadistic tendensies.
Yep. It is also merged to this mod, which potentially fixes several other things as well.
