been running on my win 11 since last jan. even after the recent win 11 update. ran as is - no compatibility. skyrim se also runs on win 10 and 11
She would press play in steam or double click the skyrimSE icon and it wouldn't play. I noticed in steam the play would change to stop and back to play after a time.
I set administrator and win7 compatability to 'skyrimSE.exe' and 'skyrimSElaunch.exe' and it would load the launcher, but hitting play would revert to the launcher after a time. She's got a refund as it don't work.
I ask here because I have zero issues playing this game on win10 and was wondering if it would work for her too, though she accepted the stupid upgrade.
Every 2nd version of Windows is poop as far as I believe and I thought I read win10 was to be the last version receiving live updates, not a completely new version, then ms breaks everything by releasing yet another broken windows and attempting to force everyone onto it. Absolute manure..
Maybe she can't play it on her laptop now ms has broken it..
Change the system language in the Windows regional standards and everything will work.
Nope region settings are correct for the country i am in..
I also have windoze 11 but never had issues with skyrim or crashes. I have ets on d:.
years ago on win 10 I had awfull corruption issues with ets after an update and had to move configs & mods away from mydocs to d:/scs games. Cant remember how it was done though.
Since windows 7 each installation of windows has been technically unique to the computer it is on. For some there are no problems, for some it won't run no matter what they do, and for some there are problems they eventually overcome.
Skyrim does require a redistribution package from Windows to work, but after that it's a case of guesswork and trying different solutions until it works for you.
So for any support you have a choice of Windows 10 or Windows 11....
So it rapidly becomes use those two versions of Windows or use an unsupported windows (with a load of issues due to lack of support) or use a different OS (with all the problems therein)....
Guess I was just plain lucky as I had to do nothing with skyrim.
Personally, I've found every other version of windoze to be good versus the other half that was absolute poo
*95 broken windows
*98 well better than 95 anyway
*ME 98 fixed?
*2000 never owned
*Xp excellent
*Vista rubbish
*Win7 the best
*Win8 never worked and they wouldn't refund
*win10 not bad
*Win11 messed up 10
Not looking forward to 12..
They constantly tried to force you into it all through Win10. I even complained to MS over their trickery of win11 install.
Just before the end of support for win10, the computer reset and they changed one of the questions leading to me getting caught oit in their forced update scam..
Unfortunately it's going to be some time before it's downloaded due to bandwidth issues.
