Why is Jaree-Ra suddenly attacking me in Solitude?
As the title says...why? Has it by any chance something to do with the quest i did for 'From Deepest Fathoms'?

Jaree-Ra never did it before i did that quest but now he does...and what's more, you can't kill him
....he just seems essential...he gets up after a few seconds and carries on fighting you...never ending.

Can anybody tell me what to do...lol

PS: The quest i did for 'From-Deepest-Fathoms was the "Unfathomable Depths" but that was started in Rifton.

Any ideas?

Could this be the problem?

Jaree-Ra may attack you on sight after you have liberated Hjaalmarch for the Stormcloaks. Since he is an essential character at this point you can not kill him. Thus your only options are either flee from him or avoid being detected by him. After Solitude has been conquered and thus the civil war has ended, he will revert back to his normal behavior.

If I use Dawnbreaker when Jaree is around he'll start attacking me. Usually I just punch a guard, pay the bounty, and it resets him.

I joined the Imperials in the Civil War Ilja so it can't be that.

And jimanity... a guard just walked away thinking it was over.

When Jaree attacks me, the guards do nothing at all but watch. Even if I beat him down with a sword. But if I get one of the guards involved, usually by punching the guard, I can pay my bounty and Jarree goes back to normal.

I had a follower mod that would cause him to attack me for no apparent reason. Got rid of the follower (mod still active) and no more issues.

Yes this seems to randomly happen. Not related to From-Deepest-Fathoms quest as it happened to me well before I met her. I also just punched a guard (I justified it cause they were being jerks for not stopping JaRee) and I paid the bounty as well. I also accepted his quest after that (accepted Lights Out, but haven't completed any parts of it) and it hasn't happened since.

If none of the above suggestions work, you can try opening the console and clicking on Ja-Ree with your mouse and typing in "resetai" without the quotes.

If that does not help (though it should), try targeting him and typing
disable [ENTER]
enable [ENTER]

This will refresh the character, just in case that he has some effect that causes him to get agressive.

Jaree-ra seems a bit prone to agression. It is also possible (though unlikely) that one of your own effects is hitting him and causing him to get agressive. It is very unlikely that Brawl Bugs Patch would fix this thing, but not entirely, seeing that Jaree-ra is set to become hostile in certain conditions of the game.

You could also find his ID and setessential 0 in the console. You'll be able to kill him but unable to do his quest.

I like to think the guard that I punch is the same one who refused to help when my sweetroll was stolen.

Thanks for all the suggestions.I can go back to before i did the Fathom quest and pop into Solitude. If all is peacful maybe i should accept his quest first as i know you can kill him in that :)
