Can't buy house in Riften

Playing Skyrim for the first time - on the switch, so no mods or anything - I did the skooma quest, talked to the jarl, she thanked me and gave me a weapon, and then nothing happened

the only dialogue options when I talk to her are asking about the white gold thing, asking "what of ulfric" asking about her stance on the war, and asking about theive's guild

i've read many blogs and forums but they are all confusing to me, because there's no thane quest or dialogue option to ask about becoming the thane, i've read I have to help people but I think I have already done that

You need to help 3 people in the town. But you need to do the Skooma quest to.

But do you have the game here on Steam?

Riften is diferrent then the other holds - there is no indicator of how many favors you've done. Just keep helping people in the hold, and eventually the option will come up.

Shudder at that. There was many bugs, but the one he have do have is possible to do. I did it my self.

lmao that's what i'm finding out, I took a long break from games and missed it when it came out so it's cool to play the original versison
