Smithing 20-100 Gold Rings
Ive Just Done Some Mining of iron ore in the haulted stream camp and transmuted them into gold, made them into rings for my smithing skill to go up. But how many do you need to get to 100???
Well i couldnt find the answer anywhere so i did some tests...
To get your smithing skill
20-50 you need 274 gold/silver/iron ore (transmute it) or 137 gold ingots
20-75 you need 716 gold/silver/iron ore (transmute it) or 358 gold ingots
20-100 you need 1456 gold/silver/iron ore (transmute it) or 728 gold ingots

For transmuting the ore buy iron ore and turn them into gold ore, but how much will that cost???
The iron ore from a blacksmith cost 3 gold coins (for my level speech, may be a little different for you) so we times 1456 by 3, (1456 x 3= amount of gold you need) which is 4368... thats cheeper than a house!!!
Hopefully this has helped you, thanks!!!
PS. i used the warrior stone and not the well rested bonus.

Nice, but could you put it in a guide?
Im sure it would get pretty high ratings.
Well, thanks for this! Also think of how high your Alteration will become!

What I take away from this is "don't try to max out smithing solely by making unadorned gold rings".

pretty much, but i think iron daggers will take more than twice the amount of time this did and dwarven bows is the only competition compared to rings

Iron daggers give you minimal XP - if you have iron ingots, you're better off saving them from Hearthfire materials.

Dwarven bows aren't bad, but I reckon it's easier to collect bulk materials for Dwarven crossbows.

Once you can make higher level stuff, though, you definitely should. Ebony bows, for example. Great skill gains there.
