Dragging Bodies
In Dragonborn Lost Legacy quest, I need to drag a body over the grate and then open the grate.
But when I use the E (activate) button on the dauger, I can only search the body. I am unable to move the body. Any help?

You have to hold it for a bit, not just press it. :)

Tried again with no luck. The bodies seem to float just off the floor for a second but they won't move. Tried to nudge the body, move to the grate while holding both the E and the W keys, hold the E key for up to 10 seconds, nothing else I can think of to try.

I know I could use the cheat code to complete the quest and then tlc to walk through the doors, but I really rather complete it "naturally".

Try pulling on an arm or leg instead of the body. It should work.

You could trying resurrecting and then killing it using the console if its just a dead body that you need you could just do this.

Pulling on an arm or a leg seemed like a good idea. But it didn't help. I'll leave this quest for now and cheat it when and if I return. Thanks.

does it have weapons on it? sometimes i noticed when a body has a weapon trying to drag it is trying to drag both at once and doesn't work

To move a body, I usually grab the torso and look straight up until the body is off the ground then walk with it. Maybe that will work.

That's actually not a bad idea. Shouts move dead bodies too. :D

You have dramatically more "power" when moving bodies using their torsos rather than their limbs.

Certain mods (or combinations thereof) mess with body weight (eg Realistic Ragdolls and Force, XP32 Skeleton), and can make it much harder to move bodies around. There are other mods which in turn try to fix this, but it's still possible to shift corpses without them if you're patient - you just have to go very slowly and accept that you'll be "dragging", not "lifting".
