Horse won't appear when I fast travel
So I just started playing the game and I bought a horse in WhiteRun. I rode the horse to the alchemist cabin (or whatever it's called), and I dismounted outside the cabin. I slept for a while and when I woke up the horse was gone. I looked around and couldn't find it.

I tried fast traveling to the WhiteRun stables, but the horse there said 'steal' whenever I walked up to it. So it wasn't my horse. I tried fast traveling to other areas and my horse was no where around.

Did I waste 1000g or is there something else I can do?

Did you try to wait some hours?

Did you try to wait some hours?

Yes, I waited 12 hours

it might have been killed by a random encounter near the shack

There are some small nice whistle mods you can use if you dont want to use one big mod for the horses.
When you try to whistle you will get the horse to you or you will get one message that it is dead.
I think your horse is dead somewhere around the Alchemist shack there are some nasty bears and wolfs around there.
