Wyrmstooth gone
Do not post any download links to this thread!
Post is old. We already know what happened with Wyrstooth.

Mod author has especially prohibited public sharing of the file. He has been kind enough to allow private distribution of the file.

Public links are thus considered as mod theft links. ZeniMax updated legal agreement has especially set mod authors as owners of their mods to combat theft problems.

If you wish to distribute the file, do so through PMs, or other private means. Posting direct links to this thread, or any other thread here in Steam, will be reported.

Thank you for respecting ZeniMax legal agreement, mod author rights and wishes, and the Skyrim modding community.

-----------------
It seems that Wyrmstooth mod author has deleted all copies from circulation, closed YouTube channel and other social media channels. Mod was also removed from Nexus, ModDB and Workshop.

I have no idea what has happened or why, but this DLC-sized mod is lost to us for now.

That's... slightly worrying.

A shame, too, as Wyrmstooth had impressive VA for a mod.

Really a shame. Hope the author reconsiders. This is why I download and save any mod I might be interested in (even if I don't immediately intend to use it) - you never know when it might disappear forever. By the way, hope things are going well for you Ilja!

Thanks. They kind of are and are not.

Bad news is that I am currently unemployed again. I am quite hopeful that this period does not last for long though. There seems to be plenty of jobs open in my area of knowledge, so I will either end up working or back to studying soon.

Good news is that I have finally managed to catch up with my sleeping debts. This means that I can finally do some updates around here, without falling in to sleep in front of my computer. :steamhappy:

I just read through a long conversation in reddit. It did not help to illuminate the situation about why Wyrmstooth was pulled. I might be missing some conversation, but so far it seems that everyone is equally confused about the situation.

Glad you caught up with the sleep debts - I know quite a bit about that! As far as jobs, well, I'm sure you'll get something, but if experience has taught me one thing, it's that not everyone appreciates the knowledge that you may have - especially if that knowledge is greater than their's. But good luck! I wish you well! (By the way, does this mean you have enough free time to get your blog up and running again? I think it vitally important that all views are available to those who wish to be informed, whether they directly concern one's own country or not - because, ultimately, all things effect us, whether we wish it so or not.)

Hmm, that's... interesting. Wyrmstooth was the only DLC-sized mod I played through, and I really enjoyed it. For now, let's just hope that it's a temporary issue and the mod author has made a big update or something. Who knows?
smr1957 3/mai./2016 às 13:48
Checked the page, just says "The file you requested was not found in our database." Usually, if the author has just pulled it to update, it will say something like: reason given - Author updating mod. Nothing like that here.

A simple update likely wouldn't warrent removing the mod and deleting everything related to it...
nonames 3/mai./2016 às 13:51

So, apparently, Jonx0r has not pulled their account. Hopefully, whatever the reason is, Jonx0r explains it and eventually reposts Wyrmstooth.

Noticed that Steam threads relating to the mod are also gone, did not check them all of course.
BTW, nonames, assuming and that is a huge leap with no facts that this has something to do with paid mods is just flammatory and not helpful. Sort of a theme of yours.

Yep. Authors social media sites are also closed, so I do not expect mod to return any time soon - if ever. I noticed that author profile is still active, so I hope we may have some explanation later.

The current blog location does not really inspire me. I like WordPress as a platform and will stick with it, but I also like to work under the hood, which is not allowed, when using the service itself.

I am planning on buying a place from web hotel, setting up my blog there, with additional forum(ish) room for game tutorials, discussion and news. I will not jump out of this forum, or stop updating my posts here, but limitations in Steam are getting a bit bothersome.

I won't be doing this now, seeing that I need a new job, before tossing more money in to fire.

IIHF 2016 starts this Friday and I will be broke as a bat after that. This is actually the best time for me to get unemployed, but I do hope that I can start a new start immediately after 2016 World Championships are over.

Yes. I am an IIHF fanatic, for two weeks of each year. Then I am just boring old me over those other 50 weeks in a year. :D

Just so I'm clear on this ... forgive my ignorance ..

This won't, in any way, affect my Wyrmstooth mod that's already installed within my game via MO.

No, if it was from Nexus or ModDB.

In my experience, most reactions like this in the modding community are caused by mod authors frustrations with entiled users. He may simply have had enough and decided to cut ties. Hopefully there's an update soon, I haven't played the mod, but it's on my list and I planned on going through it on my next playthrough.
Harichi 3/mai./2016 às 14:05
Can someone with Wyrmstooth send a dropbox link, please?
I had the mod and then had to format my PC. Now this.

If you don't send the link to adf.ly, then it should be okay (hell, maybe even adf.ly would be legal, but that's a bit of an immoral move).
