Categorized Favourites Menu problem
Can anyone recommend an alternative to this mod.
I've struggled with it for months and I have now given up.
So what's the problem ...

As we all know, the vanilla favourites is not very detailed and once you've got loads of favourited items it's a real pain to navigate ... That's why CFM was born.
Now I use an X-Box controller and in the desciption of the mod it clearly states ...
"Compatible with:
SkyUI
QD Inventory
HeadBomb's Better Sorting Mod version 1.65+ (see compatibility section
below)
Xbox controller on PC: Some people have reported that it works fine,
others that it doesn't. Try using left/right on the left stick to
go between lists.
"

I could go to the new menu and see all these wonderful new menu categories, add or remove things but because I'm frankly rubbish at this fighting stuff and usually panic or let my followers sort it out, I didn't get into setting up the hotkeys etc ... no, I just pressed "B", went to items, manually changed my Bow to Sword and continued the fight. When I tried to get the hotkeys to work, something wasn't right so I left well alone ... my default tactic.
I could never get F1 to F4 to activate correctly, assumed it was just me and eventually gave up and went back to vanilla .... which is frankly a pain in the rear end but at least I could basic adjustments to my equip sets.

And now ... well I'm just so fustrated with vanilla favourites I've had another look at CFM and found the problem ... here it is ...
Further down the mod description is this passage ...

"Equip sets can also have hotkeys. They can be assigned ctrl+1 through
ctrl+9. The modifier key to use can be configured in the config file
(eg, alt+1, shift+1). Hotkeys can be disabled if they interfer with
another mod. The favorites menu must be open for these hotkeys to work.
Equip set hotkeys are not compatible with the xbox controller at this
time.
"

Not bloody compatible with X-box controller ... the one thing that I want it to do ... and it doesn't do it.

So a little advice would be helpful ... I want a better favourites menu and I want to be able to use equip set hot-keys with it ... and I use an X-box controller as well.
(I really should've put that statement at the top to save you all the trouble of reading my waffle):steamfacepalm:

I use a controller as well. I just use the SkyUI equip sets. I think there are 6-8 of them.

Thanks ... I'll look into that ... I presume that's in the MCM

Nope, in the favorites menu at the bottom. At work right now so I can not jump in game and check it out to give you instructions.

I'd just like to revisit this ... if you don't mind ...

I went into SkyUI in the MCM menus and found I had an extra 4 hotkeys that I had not allocated. I've now given them 1,2,3,4, allocation so they are below my F1 to F4 hotkeys.
yet it's still this vanilla favourites I find annoying. I've lots of items and clothing favourited and want to build qiute a few "costume" changes into them (Sword, Bow, Mage, Smithing, Thief etc) but I find it so boring to navigate and sort through. but I couldn't build thse hotkey groupings in the CFM mod.
Am I missing something in CFM and is it my fault I can't get it to work ... or does CFM really not let me build these groupings with my X-Box controller.

BTW .. there's no rush with this if you're sorting out other problems .. it's not game-breaking in anyway

Yea, controller turns off all keys except ~ and the f-keys. In Skyrim open the favorites (up on d-pad) then Highlight an item and click right stick. Use the left stick to choose which Group you want. Then hit A to select. Rinse and repeat until all the items you want in that group are there. Now you can use the Y button to select focus (full favorites or groups). There are other features and prompts on screen.
