Can't sell stolen items?
I'm quite new to the game still. Stole some stuff from some houses I acquired keys to, and tried to sell the stuff in the general goods store. All my stolen stuff didn't show up in my inventory to sell, but once I left the shop, the stuff again shows up in my inventory, so it just won't let me sell it. Is this normal or a glitch?

there is a perk which allows you to sell stolen items

You need a fence. Certain characters in the game are a mercant type called a fence, loads in Riften in the ratway, that will let you sell stolen items. Otherwise, you cannot sell them.

Use a fence as said, or the perk is in the speech perk tree. Selling, Bribing or Persuading will help build the perk tree high enough to get there. Or you can find someone to train you, will cost though.

If you are on PC you can use a console command. I like the Morrowind feel so I do this for my characters. You only have to enter it once. player.modav BypassVendorStolenCheck 1

You could also use my mod "Fence? No Fence!". It always annoyed me that no guard was aware that I had stolen items with me, but merchants instantly knew.

I use Better Stealing http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75296
Some might call it a cheat but marking every items as stolen when nobody saw you just doesn't make sense unless they're high-value, in which case they will be missed by the owner.

I'm not acqainted with Better Stealing and don't know if it is a cheat of not. I do know that when using my mod, you still have to watch your back when stealing high-value items. Only guards and merchants aren't aware of stolen items in your inventory.

If you have hearthfire use the garden.greenhouse to make high value potions to level Alchemy (dragon tongue and fly adamantia is good) and sell those to level speech up fast. get all perks in the left branch of the speech tree for big gold boosts. As the rate of gain is based on the value of item sold having the blessing of the god beginning with z helps (solitude is easiest) as does having gear with baret price.
