a new game will save with the number after whatever save is in your folder.
at some point it will probably start throwing letters into the save numbers. I do not know as the most I ever have is 20-25 deleting all but the last 5 or so with other key points saved. I always delete all saves when stating new and I do that often
I should probably delete some of my saves.
i just started this game and im already at 18
and yes save and save often. I was once told to save what you are not willing to lose. 10 minutes is usually 3-4 because I know what to expect.
Sorry if im troubling you :)
but im confused
you said you have never gone over 20 - 25 save number .. but thats impossible for me because once i touch a save number i can never go back ..
Yes around 25 mb should be scary right?
Ya thats getting pretty big anything after like 20mb is bad. When saves reach that size usually things start happening like increased load times and stuttering. That file size should never be reached unless you have a lot of scripts running.
these saves could be 185-200. 163, 110, 99, 47, 44, 22, 1.
if I save again it would be 201. now I think I am confused.
I think 305 mb would definitely be a problem

Follow the advice given by Ilja
Thats just how saves work, when I said I was at 300-somthing I ment as the # of the save not that many save files. And this transfer between Chracters aswell. Say my Nord is on save 300, if I switch over to my dark elf on save 244 and save then it would be Dark elf save 301.

Ohh you meant 20 - 25 different save files .. i thought you said 20 25 save number.. that confused me.. so in your single playthrough you go upto 180 - 200 save number.. ok got it thanx !
Thanx for making it more clear now :')
1200 sounds great :D
Thanx for sharing !
The only problem with having a lot of saves is that the game will try to load two things from every save. One, some basic info about it (the name of the save), and two, an image of the save. This is pretty performance friendly at first, but once you get into the range of a thousand saves or more, the main menu will lag like hell and there may be noticeable slowdown issues in-game on menus and such. Thus, I'd recommend moving your saves into another folder every 500 saves or so, just to make sure you don't run into any issues.
