What to do witha .pex file?

I was trying to find a fix to the issue where you don't get the dragon soul when you first encouter the dragon outside of Whiterun. The fix I've been pointed to is a .pex file.

So possibly stupid question, what do I do with the file? I can't seem to find an answer through trusty Google.

Have you installed Usleep?

No, I don't have that program installed. Is that all that's needed to run the script?

I've never come across a .pex file previously

The game is full of *.pex files, it can run if you dont have them.
Tell us what problem you have, what do happen.

And usleep is the unofficial legendary patch must have if you have all dlc.

The problem is when I loot the dragon during the Dragon Rising quest, I don't get the Dragon Soul that allows the quest to progress to the next stage.

I downloaded this stand alone fix, however when I run the file it just comes up with the usual "File not recognised" error and asks to find a suitable program to run it in.

Dont install any pex file if you dont know what it does.
Big warning there.

And you should perhaps get your self one legal Skyrim, since you dont seems to have one.
