My followers wont follow? (resolved)
I posted this in the Workshop subforum an hour ago, but since I didn't get any replies, I decided to post on here too, so hopefully someone who has an idea of what to do might see it. Thanks guys!

I was using multiple followers lite and had three followers. I closed the game and then installed SkyUI, Frostfall, Campfire - Complete Camping System, and Relationship Dialogue Overhaul. I also installed Skyrim Mod Organizer (never used this before). None of my other mods conflict with multiple followers lite.

I reopened the game and one of my followers had disappeared and the other wouldn't follow me and the dialogue wouldn't change even when I asked them to part ways.

Panic-stricken, I disabled all of the new mods I had installed and reopened the game to no avail, and I even downloaded a new mod after my failed attempt (I didn't uninstall multiple followers lite, just disabled it) - UFO which changed the dialogue but my followers are still ♥♥♥♥ed, I can't get them to follow or change the dialogue. This has happened before and I resolved it by moving my multiple followers mod up the load order list on Data Files but that did roughly absolutely nothing this time.

What can I do? Have I completely messed up my game? I backed up my saves so I can still reinstall Skyrim, but I'd rather do that as a final alternative.

Thanks lots!

Apparently resolved by running the game via SKSE through MO.

No you have not messed up your save since you have the old save that you did have before you installed and changed the game.

First what you should do, since you have started to use MO.
You need to make your Skyrim vanilla again. And add all mods throu MO instead.
Your mods you have from Workshop should you try to save. Easy to do, or check if you can find them on Nexus instead.

Read this tread.

Phew, thank god there's hope hahaha, thanks so much for answering, you da best :steamhappy:
I've made my game vanilla and reinstalled most of my mods through MO, however my followers are still absolutely messed up. Because multiple followers lite is via Steam, I had to download a different mod via Nexus (UFO) and deleted multiple followers lite. But it still isn't working! What can I do?

You might want to switch to:

Extensible Follower Framework by Expired - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12933/?

Also, important to read the description page for full info.

And, you need to dismiss all your followers either before or after installing. (Also, you shouldn't remove a follower mod mid-game. You'd need to either go back to a save before you had the follower mod installed, or start a new game. This applies to any follower mod - see that you do have a previous save, good!)

I couldn't dismiss my followers because it wouldn't let me. And I have a previous save but this save is when my game was still functioning fine and my followers weren't acting up. When I reload this save, the problems still occur. I can load to a much earlier save and I still only have one follower even though it's at a point where I definitely had more than one.

I'm a bit lost, but yeah I think I may be forced to start a new game, thanks lots for your help though :)
Also, I did read the descriptions on the mods I recently installed, but I didn't read anything that said that it would interfere with my follower mod?! </3 oh well, RIP my poor bosmer

Well, at least you only have 48 hours in, some people have been forced to restart with hundreds!

Good luck, and I hope you get everything working! And let us know how it goes.

That's true haha, I can't complain, but 48 hours of deep investment though :P And thank you, I hope so too.
