Followers and Diseases
It was bugging me for some time but i didnt pay attention to it
i noticed often my followers getting that "disease glow" effect randomly when fighting wild animals like bears / wolves / skeever

Do followers actualy contract diseases? (i mean have the negative effects active for whole time) because i read a lot of topics that NO they cannot contract diseases but then how to explain that disease effect ?

If the do suffer from diseases
do i have to cure them somehow? or their diseases vanish over time?

Ive never experienced any follower getting a disease, or seen the effect you describe. Seems there may be a mod involved.

I recall seeing that in Morrowind. Sure it isnt magical defenses being cast?

its a feint glow (usualy happens when you get diseased) without the usual bright twirling lights as you usualy see when drinking a health potion or casting restoration

YEP its a disease
i checked her stamina before the attack it was 130
after the "glow effect" her stamina is stuck at 105 and wont regenerate further

EDIT2 :
It seems that disease faded after fast traveling to a Hold
interesting it seems that followers CAN contract some diseases but only temporarily

Wow, I never knew. Perhaps I never noticed because I rarely use followers.

It might depend on the follower. I have used Inigo for an extensive period of time and have never noticed that.

So you saying you are worried your follower will turn into a bloodsucker if you do not give them enough cure disease potions?

no because i know they cannot contract vampirism unless i bestow vampirism on them
im just worried about their combat prowess pernamently reduced because of diseases that reduce stamina or melee damage

but since its tempoary and further testing showed that i can command followers to use a shrine and that also seems to remove any negative effects

so its all good

Also they do use potions if given.

not all some of them (health ones usualy) and only the pre generated ones (bought , looted)
the crafted ones you give them they dont use
I saw an NPC fight a bear and get the disease glow on him. He was a random orc you can get into a pointless streetfight with on the road if you use the wrong (or right) dialogue options.

The bear kept smashing into his shield and I was healing the orc. It was a disease glow for sure because he had no potions or spells, he was just a warrior type.

Makes me wonder if NPCs can turn into vampires during one of these vampire attacks.
